xXru1n3dXx
Hey guys, at the end of the year i'm going to get a new PC, but we're (my dad and I) are confused on a little something. Basically, we just need to know the difference between "Dual Core" and "Core 2 Duo". They sound the same, but what are the differences (if there are any). Thanks in advance. Mementh
i would not for any reason right now go for a quad core (4 cores) the reason is because even though windows xp pro can understand multiple core processors.. they can't make the programs running take advantage of it.. (IE split say your game into two processing threads) the program has to understand dual core machines to take advantage.. however on a dual core.. it can put the OS and some programs on one core.. and your game on another (improving speed for the game since its the ONLY process on that one core) quad cores basically.. multiply that set.. but it does not help for games and such since they have to be coded to use more then one CPU The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! JoeDaStudd
Dual Core is a description Core 2 Duo is a brand name for 8th Gen Intel processors Means that there are two cores in on processor (effectively 2 processors in one) AMD also do a line of dual core processors, starting with the AMD Athlon 3600+, although the first few AMD dual core processors are cheaper they cant compete with Intels Core 2 Duo on preformance. Put simply Dual Core means ANY processor that has two cores, whereas Core 2 Duo is the name of Intels latest Dual Core processors [hide=Drops]Dragon Axe x11Berserker Ring x9Warrior Ring x8SeercullDragon MedDragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kcGodsword Shard (bandos)Granite Maul x 3Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats][/hide]
