Hi what is the best thing to smith with iron bars so that you get the most xp per load?

Iron platebody. Consumes 5 bars.

but does it give more xp than smithing something that only consumes 1 bar? u can only make like 5 pl8 bodys but u can make 27 maces... which is better?

Plates are better because you can smith them much faster, but the XP per bar is the same no matter what you make.

XP is per bar, however, 5 platebodies take less than one fifth of the time 27 maces take to make

if u are p2p then make iron knifes. Then u ll make some profit also

what level to make mithril knives then? And what the heck are knives for anyway?

Throwing Knives are smithed 5 per bar and are also stackable. They cannot shoot from as far as if you were using a bow. But they are still good for train rangeing because they are fast.

 

 

 

To make Mithril throwing knifes u need 57 smithing

Personally, I smith whatever I can sell at one of the "select" stores nearby. Shields and maces in Faldor, chainmail, platebody, and swords in Varrock. I'm F2P

you can buy iron ore, and make a profit smithing iron knives, its what a lot people do to do lots of leveling. and its 5 per bar.

Only having 74 smithing currently it depends on what metal I'm working with. My purpose in doing iron is that it gives you a lot of xp respectively per bar, especially using a ring of forging to make all my ore into bars. I then make all my iron bars into throwing knives so I can train my ranging skill, give them to friends to use or to sell them to other players.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If I take the time to mine/purchase/gather coal and I am smithing mith bars then I'll make those into plates. Same thing once I can make full addy. I will make plates because then I can either sell those for a nice profit or end up high alching them for money.
