Normal bows and X-Bows

Featured Replies

Crossbows hit harder, but a lot slower when firing.

Personally I can't stand xbows they are way to slow. But that's just me.

99.9% of runescape uses normal bows, crossbows are heavily under-rated, but they are actually really powerful in certain cases.

All depends really, for leveling fast, cheaply normal bows are the way to go. Crossbows are for special tasks (ex: using karils x-bow for killing TzTok-Jad.)

WRONG! crossbows hit same speed as shortbows. and they hit about the same except crossbows r 1 hand weapon and bows r 2 hand weapons.

From my knowledge, crossbows are weilded with 1 hand while bows requires both hands, even tho the Barrow's c-bow requires both hands ...I dont know why

That's only true if you are talking about Karils crossbow. According to RUNESCAPE.com's Manual a short bow has a speed of 6 and a crossbow has a speed of 4.

Any general store will take them off your hands ;)

The effects of enchanted bolts, however rare, can really help in a fight.

I was using opal bolts and an addy crossbow at castle wars, and while I shot their flag holder, the lightning effect kicked in, hitting a 13 and killing him.

It's all about timing. Plus, all you need is to mine gems in shilo, which is, in my opinion, is better then killing chickens and getting shafts.
