Chapter [1.0] Intro on the RuneScape Tracker

trackermainwindow4tg.png

Well what the RuneScape tracker is a tracking system. It can track your friends which was the main idea of it but, I expanded it. I made it so it will find the nearest anvil, friend, lvl86 monster, lvl65 Fletcher (ext.). It also tells you what your friends are doing (for example they could be: Standing, cuttings yews, high alching steel plate bodies (ext.). In the settings windows are more options and even a picture of yourself and your friends. Everything I will go into deep detail during the next 5 chapters.

Chapter [2.0]The Map

This map shows where you and your friends are in the game. Here is the legend for the map

legend4zj.png

As you can see the blue triangle means the friend(s) or you are on another level of the building. To see where you or your friend(s) is just click on the triangle and a little mini-map will show up revealing your friend or you. Here̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s an example of what it should look like.

Chapter [3.0]The List

This list shows your friend̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s nickname you give them and what world they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re on (more information in changing your friend̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s nickname on Chapter [5.2]). Also just click on a friend and then press the Find button, It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll track your friend down and his every step he̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s taking. It should look like this

Chapter [4.0]The Nearest

This is a handy button when in need of finding things. Just click on the arrow and a list will appear. Then click on the nearest thing you want to find and it will show up on the Tracker map and mini-map at top-right corner of screen.

The list should look something like this

Nearest...

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ (regular-magic) tree

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ bank

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ lvl0-333 monster

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ cage fishing spot

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ anvil

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ coal rocks

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ tree farming patch

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ agility course

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ general store

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ cooking range

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ water tap

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ un-started Quest

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ lvl3-126 friend

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ gnome glider

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ dungeon

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ rune shop

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ gem stall

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ (ext.)

The (+) sign is s handy tool when you know how to use it. What it does is it shows the shortest route from spot 1 to spot 2. When you click it will ask you to set spot 1 (just click wherever you want on the map) and then spot 2. From there it will show the shortest route possible for you to take. It should look something like this

Excellent idea, but will probably be VERY hard to do. You have images, a well thought out original idea, and described it nicely. For your first post, it was awesome.

Those are some nice ideas, I had a similar idea in which you clicked the minimap which expanded to full world map view which showed everyone in the world at the time on the one map, (white for normal, green dots for friends, blue dots for team cape wearers).

I do think however although you put a lot of effort into this, you have gone a little over the top  A lot of this would be too difficult to implement from a programming perspective. For example your shortcut routing wouldn't be possible unless Jagex input every single route there was (millions) and the "what your friends are doing" thing wouldn't really work either when you consider how much time you actually spend doing 1 action, most of the time it will say running, walking or standing (unless may be you design it so players can set it e.g. I'm going to pyramid plunder so i set my status to "Playing Minigame" or something along those lines.

The nearest feature is a good idea but is also unlikely is some aspects like nearest lv(-) monster, friend, cage fishing spot, e.g. things that continuously move/change would be hard to do. Simplified to say nearest mining spot, fishing spot, rare tree spot (basically anything that has an icon on the minimap) would be easy.

I hope my comments haven't put you off, I see you have put a lot of work into this. Great Job!!!
