Defender2516
Hey guys, I saw the new Hunter skill come out, and i'm just wondering a few things. I'm deciding to go back to members because of it, but I wondered how the skill actually works because I heard others say it was "soo boring". When your trying to catch a bird or whatever.. what does your charater do? I mean.. does he just set a trap and you stand there for 10 mins? Do you have to go hide behind a tree? I just don't wanna buy membership and enjoy the skill for a hour or two and then get bored. Thanks for the help! ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me
salim123
ya how longs does it take for a bird to come i wanna get to 33 hunting for the vambs (i hope u can add them to black d hide) and harpoon everything else can go ******************************************************* itself lol :P
deadmeet1234
don't do the birds, they are crowded times 10k, it'll be much easier to just do the kebbits to start unless you start in a few weeks once the skill dies down a bit
omegavirus34
As of now yes some may say it's boring because "everyone" is catching birds at the same time so instead of maybe getting them every 30 seconds you have to wait because everyone else is catching them to. As far as what your character does he doesn't do a whole lot but distance where you are and all that does affect things during hunting. As far as the other things go there sorta the same just involve different things to do and etc I like the skill its something new and fun to do...Plus over time im sure they will add more creatures and etc to hunt with ... after all the highest bird to catch is at lvl 19 ... plenty of room for exspansion. Defender2516
So let me get this right.. I go to a area.. i set a trap.. I stand near the trap.. a bird comes.. gets caught in the trap.. I get experience.. and.. thats it? And bird spawns are not individual to each player, but rather as a monster spawn, so whoever gets it first wins? Sounds more frustrating than fun! #-o ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me
Kenshinjapan
But as your levels get higher, you don't just do birds...You actually get into real hunting and trapping monsters. And don't listen to everyone that says it's "soooo boring" cause there the ones that want it to be like cons. where you could get to level 10 in 5 minutes. Instead, we have to *shivers*WALK AROUND! OH NO! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO :ohnoes: :ohnoes: ! So once you hit 20+ the skill gets pretty fun 8-) And sorry if I got a bit off topic...I tend to do that. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE! un1kmage
I really like that, already got 46! The lizards, when you got 3 traps, is really keeping you busy (until some jerks come and steal your spot, but that's another story) I mean, I usually browse forums or whatever while doing mostly anything in RS, but not that, because its keeping you constantly busy, which is good and adds to the fun factor. Un1k Mage spoke. :)
Krisje
You start off with putting out bird traps and just w8 for a bird to come and sit on it but if it take a seat on it, it doesnt have to mean you will get the catch, it can fly away and you have to re-set your trap. I did this till lvl 40 with the desert birds in a spot with birds where I was totally alone in ( far north of the hunting area ). after that i tryed some other birds in relleka while catching butterflyes.. some good xp but i wanted more so I went on to lizards which is great xp. To catch a lizard you will need a rope and a net which you use with a "Younger tree" to set a trap. the lizard steps on it and you will have him in the net caught and gain 150xp. With 3 traps you get very busy and keeps you motivated and the time just flyes away. About the number of traps, you start off with 1 which you can buy in the yanille or nardah hunting shop. Then at lvl 20 you can now use 2 traps = twice the xp and at lvl 40 you can use 3 traps, and 60 4 traps and 80 5 traps. Its a fun and addictive skill tbh, and i enjoy it alot, its just the beginning who is boring because everything is so crowded and its hard to get the first lvls. Thanks for me and happy Hunting
pedrahm5
To be honest, I was judging hunting before it even came out. I expected it to be boring as heck, and maybe another money drain like construction. So far, I've been proven wrong :P I love how there are so many different ways to go about hunting. Maybe it's just the wow-factor of a new skill, but I really had fun in my first day of hunting :D
relientk686
this afternoon when i began hunting i thought wow what a pointless skill, jagex needs to make the new schools a little more interesting. but oncei hit lvl 11 and caught birds to lvl 23 and now am pitfalling wild kebbits its quite fun and good xp. transcript80
Its fun, but crowded for now. Especially the animals that have competition (pitfall antimals, death trap animals) can be frustrating. When you just track down animals, it's an animal just for you! They are especially good for fats levelling on lower levels (till 20). And yes, you can attach the kebbits to black vambraces, it gives a little crafting exp as well (4 i think). Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
wishkahbanks
Very fun but i have now reached the point where i need to be getting fast xp to level and its just not possible with how busy it is so il come back when it dies down a bit :D
oldstyle
its sumt to do and farming looks good with the current conditions. if never a member before, do the watchtower quest for a yanille tele and the biohazard for the ardy tele, and settle into the game, too early to tell if it sucks, there is alot of potential, once it settles down. http://rsdo.net/sigs/users/s/sharkeater75.png126 combat. 2001 total. 101 prayer. and off to go WoWin. WHEEE NO MORE RANDOMS!!!! -.-
