BODIES... The Exhibition

Well it was over here (or something real similar) in the Superdome (at Sydney Australia) a couple months back. It was called The Amazing Human Body though, not Bodies. Was pretty cool, I went with my parents and a friend. I swear some of the people there discussing the bodies though seem to be future-doctors.

Overall it was a good experience, if it comes near you see it, you don't come across things like this often.

Edit: Yeah ours is a little different, heres the link anyway: http://amazinghumanbody.com.au/

My interest in this topic is very low. Its so low I don't even know how to communicate it.

But I can see why people would be interested in it. I'd like to see some actual benefits from this. Does anyone know how long they have been doing these shows?

I went to a bodies exhibit last year for AP BIO. There was so much to learn from the bodies. My brain went into overload from all the terms. It was very useful for review for the different systems. Also the bodies are preserved with some funky smelling chemicals. They preserved so they look like rubber, so it wasn't entirely realistic. But theres no better way to perserve them. The blood systems were beautiful. They look like red trees. But they were breaking up.

Best thing there were the fetuses. You could see the development of the baby. It was rather sad.

The bodies come from chinese people that had no family left and signed their bodies away to science. You can tell they are chinese from how short they are :P

I'd recommend people go see it. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. To see what a human truely is.

O an interesting thing to see was the damage done to lungs by smoking and to see goiters.

That just was in my state. (I'm not sure if it still is or not)

I never went to see it, but it looked pretty cool. And from what I heard, they were all donated bodies. This new information about them being unclaimed chinese bodies is a bit interesting.

Not quite sure to think about that.

Was it called "body worlds"? I can't remember anymore. I went to such an exhibit with my class though - years ago. There was a huge hype back then. Moral questions never occured to me though. Wierd was, that everything was so clean. It looked more like art then like actual bodies to me.
