Mamong
Would buying cowhide be quicker or stick with flax? [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]
BloodAngel
Flax is quick, and I am using it to get from 48-61. It is a good money maker as well so I would go with flax. -Blood Angel "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
Mamong
You both say flax, I looked on the calcs and its 7k Coifs or 17k Flax...Surely coifs would be faster than flax. [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]

chavster
The best way to level crafting at the mo is to make orbs using the lunar magic supglass make spell (lvl 77 mage required). Collect the soda ash / seaweed / sand from the traders just south of Catherby. You can get sand on a regular basis from Bert (Hand in the sand quest) in Yanille (84 per day). Use the superglass make spell to create molten glass (20 xp per glass created). Using the spell, you always get more glass than the ingredients used. Blow the glass into orbs (52.5 xp per orb) which needs lvl 46 crafting. If you then want to get more xp, charge the orbs at the air obelisk using the lvl 66 charge air orb spell. Use the orb with a battlestave and get another 137.5 crafting xp and an elemental air battlestaff. The vast majority of Xp using this method comes from making the orbs themselves. Battlestaves can only be bought in Yanille mage guild and Varrock (5 each), but they give a high-alching profit of over 2K per stave. This is quite useful if you're camped out in the Yanille mage guild high-alching Yew longs, using the profit to buy staves as they respawn. Sjakie_1_1_3
Making coifs is faster but it will cost you alot (cowhides are 100-150 each and leather is 200-250 each). Making bowstrings takes alot longer but you'll actually make money doing it (flax is 100 each, bowstrings are 150-200 each). I would definatly go flax if I had to choose out of those 2. Jock66600
If you did The Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble I would invest your 1 mil and all the workers into flax. Also to keep your interest thing at least 90-100.
Mamong
Thanks Jock, I might go back to Miscellania and put the mil in their for flax. How long does a mil last before I run out of cash on MTK? [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]
Zandalf
Keep in mind that when you make coifs, you have to walk back and forth getting hides tanned, which take forever... ...I like the flax-runner method. Convince someone to run flax for you at the seers spinning wheel. (It shouldn't take long: they'll get their bowstrings twice as fast, so it's an amazing deal for them.) You'll constantly be getting crafting xp; it's free; and it's relatively quick. (In case that's not clear - you go to the spinning wheel and start shouting "FREE SPINNING! Trade my 28 bs for your 28 flax!". Someone will begin having you spin all their flax while they run back and forth between you and the bank.) Mamong
Great idea Zandalf I like the runner method. I've decided to go MTK, after checking the guide I figured that you get Flax for 40ea... Thanks for all your help.
