pokemon red & blue rescue team

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Is this game worth getting? because i dont know whether i should get it or not. I mean for christmas btw, lol.

Jesus, just make a decision for yourself for a change.

Buy the game, try it out, if you don't like it, return it. Hell, if you're getting it for Xmas you won't even spend anything.

I have yet to try this game so I can only give an opinionated review: Check it out. I heard it is a decent RPG though, like some Pokemon games are. Many people expect the name bears childish promotion, but actually some of the games are fun to play.

I beg to differ. Tip.it is also my grandmother and mother-in-law.

I tried 10 minutes and it sucked.

Get it if you want it. What you gonna ask next? What you should eat and when you get up in the morning?

Give the guy a break. I made a topic a few months ago on what should I get, a Bond box or a DS with two games. Nobody flamed me and they just answered the question.

Ah, okay, didn't know he made a topic everytime he had to make a choice. Yea, we're not your mother. Or grandmother or mother-in-law for that matter.

You must've gotten so far. ;)

It's completely different game to that of the other Pok̮̩̉̉mon games, as i'm sure you've noticed. The graphics are what you'd expect of Pok̮̩̉̉mon games aswell. The gameplay is faster in places and sometimes a bit too fast. Boss battles can vary from just a few turns to maybe a few hundred turns (exaggeration).

Before you begin playing you are asked a questionnaire and depending on your answers you will become a Pok̮̩̉̉mon. The questions are never the same and have about 10-20 different Pỏ̮̩̉mon outcomes varying from Cubone to Pikachu to Charmander. You then get to choose your starting partner which is always one of the starting Pok̮̩̉̉mon from the previous games. (Charmander, Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip etc.)

Once you begin you jump straight into a mission with your partner to resuce a Caterpie for it's mother, pretty straightforward and teaches you all the basics. (All rules from previous games apply; fire is good against grass, electric against flying etc.)

Once you complete it your partner asks you to join his team he is going to form, you get to choose the name of it. (Around ~10 letters long) You then get taken to a house (which varies depending which pokemon you are (rocky for Cubone etc) and you can rest and save here.

After one mission where you rescue a Diglett for it's parent, you are then free to do any mission you choose with some story-building ones thrown in. Each mission you do will get it's own reward (usually a berry or some monies) and some Pok̮̩̉̉Fame (the more of this you have, the more missions you get).

The missions vary from taking an item to a stranded Pok̮̩̉̉mon to rescuing someone.

The gameplay is suited for on-the-go and not long-term. Playing it in 5 minute bursts will probably satisfy your taste more than to sit there for 5 hours at once.

It's not a particularly thrilling game, but it's a much different feel than being a trainer. I'd only recommend getting it if you liked the previous Pok̮̩̉̉mon games and you know your stuff.

Disclaimer; I do not own the game, I play my friends version so I don't know very far into the game. But I do have an emulated version.

Hehe, I know. I liked the questionare and how it picked a pokemon for you. But after that, I don't know. I started playing and felt like quiting after 10 minutes. I didn't really like how the combat system was, and overal expected something entirely different. Neither did I have the desire to find out how everything worked exactly.

considering your hopefully 13+ and you like pokemon... very sad pokemon are little screwed up creatures that run around saying their name and shooting lasers out of "various" places

Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....
Okay, cad explained everything necessary.

But what's the difference between blue and red rescue team games?

Well for the older games it was always which Pok̮̩̉̉mon you could capture, i.e. red had Arbok while blue had Sandshrew, but for these games I am unsure. I expect it to be the choice of Pok̮̩̉̉mon for your questionnaire. If not, i'll say the missions you get.

Woah, hold on there riku! You don't actually expect him to visit a GAME website, which reviews GAMES over whether deciding a GAME is worth buying/playing.

Because that's just silly!
