Restaurants in RuneScape?

Featured Replies

If you take the time to browse through the first ten pages of the events forum on RuneScape, you'll see that there are a lot of "restaurants" or "cafes" in operation. I'm just curious to see what other people think about these establishments. :ohnoes:

I think they're really dumb lol =;

it seems like theres no point in it. it seems useless to buy food unless your buying 1k+ of it.

go to the food store in yanille put some tea and cake on the table and wala a cafe

Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

the restrant and cafe part is usually sumthing to promote the house of whoever owns it(meaning people go over there and "worship" the owner)

I think that "Cafes" or "Restaurants" are really pointless in game. They are even more pointless when they are a forum cafe or restaurant.

I think they're pretty pointless :? They make it seem so much more "real" than it is. I.e. "The food is great! The service, however, could use a bit of work. I was waiting for my chocolate cake for at least 15 minutes!!"

I really think that since these "Restaurants" have no real place in Runescape society (meaning, nothing official has been set down by Jagex), they're just kind of.. Silly and pointless

But whatever, to each his own.. Whatever gives them a good time :P

Pointless really. Your dining room in the house can pretty much make up for any need of a restaurant or cafe.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Just for fun :D

I would greatly enjoy calling in on my Medieval telephone and calling up a local formal resturant to get reservations for a party. Haha.

You can't really have a "Restaurant" on Runescape, and you wouldn't get any business anyway. Is the place gonna be in the middle of the woods or something?

Well it's usually something like this...

1. Someone browses the Events Forum and sees a cafe. Their reasons for going would be something like creative output, boredom, things like that.

2. They go, they get food and pay. Sometimes OVERPRICED, but usually well below the market value for the food items.

3. They eat in the house.

I think it's because people are bored.

Its very stupid. These live for a day or two then die. Pointless.

Rofl I did that with my friend back in rsc, like 4 years ago, when we were around lvl 40-ish

=; Wait! I had a, well, not really a cafe, but I allowed fellow Tip.Iters to come over and pick up as much free food as they wanted (I was baking cakes and placing them on the table). Sure, I didn't make a profit, but I got to help the community! \' Too bad that's gone again because I found a new hobby on RS. :(

Well actually...

Some well intentioned restaurants last for months, sometimes years. I can, however, agree that a lot of them are overpriced.

cafes or restaurants are pointless but people are just having fun

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

I've offered a "restaurant" before while letting people use my altar. Just something to do to pass the time if I don't have anything else to do.
