I believe that the main contributor to the spamming problem is people trying to get their post counts up. I was on another forumn for xbox a few years ago and it helped a lot to keep down the spamming as people were no longer trying to rack up their post count as high as they can.

The main contributor to spam is people not reading the rules, not post counts. This discussion has however been done in quite detail relatively recently, search the boards for the concensus.

As merciful pointed out above the debate of keeping or getting or having the post counts only visible in the profile was debated by the tip it community, in a poll, the majority voted to keep post counts and that was to be the end of anything relating to keeping or getting rid of post counts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Those that spam, probably haven't read the rules, get carried away, do not respect the boards, may have mental issues, or are just plain board and take it out on the boards, for some of these nothing that is controlled by the tip it forums can control wether or not the person(s) decide to take action in spamming, just think, if tip it didn't take action for the spammers, YOU may be the one spamming themselves to 1 000 000 posts.
