Hosting my large file images?

Featured Replies

I've just got a Canon SLR camera for christmas, 10Mpeg pictures.

So a massive amount of quality.

Which also means massive file size.

Imageshack won't let me host it, I can't upload them onto Myspace.

Any suggestions?

File size averages 3Mb

Ok.

I can't move it so, until a Mod notices.

Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!

Unless you're posting them for stock photography for others to use at that resolution, or planning to sell them, you aren't going to have much fun trying to host 3mb pictures for family and friends to look at.

What are you using the pictures for? Kinda hard to suggest things without knowing the end goal. :?

Forums, Myspace.

Mainly.

There on my Laptop now, Fine, I can print them off, Email them, Whatever.

But i want to be able to host them and show others on Forums and Myspace.

It's saved as Jpg. at the moment, I don't want to ruin the file size to much.

Reduce their actual size. Your images are probaly around 2500x1300 or something large like that.

Reduce them to something [around, keep it in proportion] 900x[whatever] and it should be fine.

Reduce them in size and/or use a place such as http://www.flickr.com

Yerh, It's all sorted thanks.

Resize, Save as Jpg.

Which reduces the file size and also keeps the quality.

Thankyou all.

Buy your own site (maybe $1.50 us per month minimum) and you can host large pics there
