Sig help/ideas etc please

Recommended Posts

I'm making this signiture for my friend, just done this so far, but my sharks very dodge, don't worry about the shading underneath the shark atm, I can fix that abit later.

Buuuut what I need help on is ideas to stuff I could add to the picture like in the water, and how I can fix up what it already looks like. So yeah, looking for both CC and whatever else anyone wants to say.

(The guy I'm doing this for just asked me to make a 'creature' fishing for a shark in the water, nothing too detailed so I've done that kinda so far).

Thanks Exbajalator

PS: Considering my signiture was previous sig I made before this one, I have obviously improved just by looking at all the posts around "The Gallery" so far, so yay for this forum lol.

There's nothing fundamentally wrong with this picture.

You have depth, shading and light sources, pretty good anatomy and perspective.

Also that goblin looks pretty cool too.

Perhaps work on smoothing out the jagged lines and blending the shading more to make it look more realistic.

Good job though, it looks nice.

Thanks a bunch everyone so far, yeah I guess I'll stick with the shark I have then, just the background to work on now.

That water edge and waves isn't going to be easy I'll see how I go later. Oh and thanks for the honesty destro anyways.

honestly, i hate the shark at the moment. at first, when i first saw it, i thought it was an evil cartoon dolphin to be honest. i dont mean to be honest but thats just what i thought.

sharks have straighter snouts, and unlike dolphins it dosnt curve down to the mouth. i did an example.

also, you wouldnt see the sharks tail. its impossible for it to leap out of the water like that, with its tail bent at that angle; when a shark/dolphin/whale/any animal leaps out of the water, they use their tail beneath them and move it powerfully and quickly to propell them out of the water, if the tail was up like that, it wouldnt be in the air.

heres a brief example of some of the things with the shark; the tail is gone, and the heads a bit of a better shape though of course im still not saying its perfect. try looking at some reference pics of great whites comming out of the water.

ill give you credit though the rest of the sharks body looks fine, with the fins, theyve got a pretty good shape.

must say i really like your green 'creature' as well :)

Yay thanks soooo much lol, I kept seeing it as an annoying dolphin as well, which is pretty bad since I was drawing it lol.

But yeah thankyou for the tips on drawing that, got some better idea of what sharks look like atleast so I'll play around with what you said with it and properly place shading on it once the shapes perfecto 8-)
