this is a great idea, i mean free play has to work so much harder. why not give them skill capes?

Maybe not skill caped, but just hoods.

 

 

 

Wise old man could tell you something like "My friend --> Insert skill master's name here <-- wanted to send you this hood sinse you have mastered --> Insert maxed skill here <--"

 

 

 

Maybe they could even add a +1 pray bonus to the hood or something.

Look f2p's (I am one myself) I don't know how many times I have said this on other posts in this forum. The reason f2p's don't get anything is because Jagex is a company that has its mind set on making money just like anyother company. To do this they give f2p's the short end of the stick to get them interested in becoming a p2p. If I recall correctly there was only 1 benificial update for f2p's in the entire year of 2006 besides holiday events. There is no way Jagex is going to allow f2p's even half of what a p2p can get. P2p's have more than double the f2p's space. P2p's have 8 more skills than f2p's which is a good 53% more skills than f2p. P2p's also have much more mini games and others of that sort. This is always how it is going to be. In no way am I trying to be rude with this post. If you wish to see it that way then go ahead. But honestly you should thank p2p's and even Jagex for just the right to play Runescape. What would you say if f2p was eliminted al together?

If f2p was eliminated the game would die along with jagex...it is not that f2p does not benefit jagex. If it would cost them money to keep f2p going it was gone a long time ago. So your last statement doesn't make sense...I would even go as far as to say that the huge number of updates and thus additional development (cost) of the game is for a major part paid by advertisement on the f2p and that p2p covers the cost for maintaining the servers and web space(or vise versa).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But true if you pay you deserve to have everything the game has to offer. If you don't pay you should be happy you have the change to familiarize yourself with the game. But also if for some reason you are not able to pay you still can start/continue playing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think in the previous posts it became quite clear that, at least I, understand that p2p should be treated as customers and thus get good play time (read extras etc) for the money. This discussion is about a little thing, not influencing the game or the behavior of f2p. And you have to admit, someone who wanted to become p2p will not cancel that idea because they get a stat-free recognition for reaching 99 in a skill.

why pay $5 for a cape? made of pixels no point...as i am leaving p2p soon due to certian things i am also gonna do it as an experiment of playing f2p and try the bnk space etc etc.

I think that f2p ers should get skill capes too. It's just as hard (If not harder) for them to obtain a 99 skill. They should get rewards just like us p2p ers
