skill capes should be f2p too

the last months a whole set of new items was released for the treasure trails, some new games/quests and 2 new skills. This was great for p2p...new things to get, to discover and to lvl. Besides this the skill capes (or capes of accomplishment) were also introduced.

I don't understand why these should be p2p only...is getting 99 for someone in f2p not as big as an achievement (honestly, most skills it is even harder). Therefore I would like to see the capes of accomplisment of the matching f2p skill available f2p ppl.

(Yeah, I know I should become p2p...)

What do you think? is this unreasonable?

yea they were all locked because of p2p v f2p flame wars.

p2p pay

f2p dont and dont say you do f2p=free to play (not pay a penny)

but there not nescearily as hard.

you can buy lobs and cook

you can do all the buyable f2p as easy as a p2p just takes more time due to range so you get logs and burn them and so on.

truthfuly im fed up with f2p its basicly a trial version of the game and i think it should go because majority are ungreatful little kids

Jagex ran runescape f2p for years.. the only rumour going around was that it would ever come out on cd :P

even then, I really support the skill capes for f2p, it doesnt seem right that you dont get the respect you truly deserve (thats a great achievement for f2p) just becouse youre not p2p???

I couldt start with "racist" but thats over the top :boohoo:

True the stats are far too high for f2p, i see your point. Maybe less stats should be connected to the cape when worn in a f2p world...that would not be too hard to program.

I however don't agree with the payment argument. It is one object and it is related to achievement. This should be uncoupled from paying.

I also don't agree with the fact that f2p should be removed from the game. Jagex will probably earn something from the adds and therefore will not stop it...whether it is more or less then that they earn from p2p is discussed in another thread. And that f2p is for ungreatful kits is complete BS...there are families out-there that can't affort to spend 5 dollars a month. And I don't mean poor people, but for instance countries where the currency is of low value...spending 5 dollars would be a significant percentage of the wages of the parents. So please think before you start accusing people.

The other remark of Limpbizkit however made me think....what about autoers? Should they deserve a cape...of course not!! So maybe a suggestion could be: in order to get a skill-cape in f2p you need at least 99 in two skills...or an x-number of skills need to be over 60 and 1 should be 99 to deserve it as f2p.

Well, I am sorry I missed the previous discussion....I am new to the forum and did not have the chance to go through all the threads.

Skillcapes will never be f2p, they have a +9 defence bones for everything.

Jagex will never give the second best capes ingame to f2p. <.<

They can take away all stat bonus for all care, the main thing is the recognition for an achievement.

question, who here reads every last high score???

I can barely make it ten people down without getting bored. The capes were made for that reason, no one can recognise that you have 99 in skills, unless you have 126 combat, or sit and make a rune platebody right in front of them. and free-to-play is not just a trial, they are there because they are a 300k+ group of a category called potential members. I personally think this is a good idea.

P.S. It is harder if you level straight f2p, especially if your a mage, click on the link in my siggy to see why

Could the thought of macroers come to mind? All of those macroers cutting willows by Draynor would now get a cape to reward their against-the-rules movement.

Completely true and in an earlier message addressed.

or just make the capes on f2p 10m a time...

and only for cb100+ or something like that...

but f2p have no hope due to autoers...as soon as jagex can wipe the game clean of autoers then its gotta chance

but there is high scores...just use them for now and contact jagex

I think they DO deserve to wear a skill cape. Having 99 in skill on f2p is more difficult than having one in p2p. things are more difficult to train on f2p to b honest. And things will remain this way. Jagex is just being money minded. They want peeps to join p2p.

i agree that us F2P deserve it but they could also have something different to maybe show they got a 99 in 100% F2P. It could maybe just not have like the emote.

Great suggestion...f2p does not need something fancy but a little acknowledgement for the achievement would be nice. In the end p2p should get the really nice extras...they are still the paying customers. Maybe for f2p a cape with the symbol of the achievement...like an axe for wc, a bow/arrow for range....etc without any additional stats (just like a normal cape)....that brings an idea to mind.

maybe for p2p and f2p when you use the skill that has 99 an aura of light is around the tool you use. Or in case of cooking or firemaking for instance around the hands or head. Just a suggestion...this way both get something extra and f2p has still the privilege of wearing the cape.

FINALY A F2P THAT UNDERSTANDS! :XD:

but seriously come on f2p wont get because of getting the capes...

its not like they could just get them of the tutorial people

but theres 1 thing i cant stand...

f2p dont work harder all the time majority of the time its just as hard and thats what really makes me think f2p=ungreatful bunch of little kids that think they deserve everything....

but my idea would be on f2p skill capes is:

a basic cape say orange for this example

just an orange cape with say atk on it standing for attack nothing fancy
