Celt23 Posted January 17, 2007 Share Posted January 17, 2007 The simple fact is we have never seen a truely communist country since 1924 (the date Lenin died and Stalin took over the USSR). Since then, the Soviet Union was not a dictatorship of the Proletariat (working class), but a dictatorship of the Soviets. It was basically an extremely totalitarian version of a fascist state. China, Cuba, North Korea and Vietnam are no different. Except China and Vietnam are allowing a great deal of capitalism, and that makes them even less communist. One theory says that these countries were somewhat communist, but pressures from capitalist counties like the US did not allow them to develop into fully communist countries.
