Well, I'm working on smithing, and one of the fastest ways (well, faster than mithril) is gold bars. I know no one buys them, and they're pretty have no use, so what should I do with the few thousands I'll have?

if you're willing to spend a few days in the shilo mine, you can get some nice crafting levels and money along the way. Every gem can be made into a saleable product.

Sorry, I think the best place for gems is actually Rouges Den (stealing from safes). Getting some privacy at the Shilo mine is nigh impossible

I do agree that the rogue's den is faster, but it's not impossible to find a world without a miner in shillo. When I was mining there for gems at peak hour (there were close to 200k people on), I only had to hop worlds once to find an empty world, and I used that world for 3-4 hours without anyone else coming there, and then I got bored.

Erugh yeah.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I brought 5k gold ores, Smelted, and then couldn't sell.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I ended up selling for something like 140 ea..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I just loved the exp though.

You could either:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

a) get crafting exp and make ammies out of them

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

B) get smithing exp by making a gold helmet or gold bowl

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

c) sell for less than 200 ea

My advice, get gems, craft jewelry (crafting EXP), enchant (magic EXP) and sell for a decent price (profit).
