Children of Men

Featured Replies

I saw Children of Men at my dads today. The story wasn't great, but the movie it's self felt very realistic and a scary look at what the future might be in 2027. The way the shots were taken were well done, most are very long, especially when it's in the action. There must have been a lot of money gone into this film and it shows. The special effects are amazing, even the computer animated baby almost looked real at first.

My favourite bit is when the army comes in the area and blows the crap out of everything with tanks and start to seige a building, that part was also quite realistic.

I recommend the film to anyone who likes realistic war films. :D

Basically the film is about mass infertility where babies are extremley rare and political chaos is rife in the future.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

I really enjoyed it also. Read my posts in the "What movie did you last see" topic :P . The part that you were saying was your favourite is the 15 minute long-shot we were talking about in that thread :D

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

I also enjoyed that shot but I had a little problem with it. I would have left the blood off the camera. It didn't make sense to have blood on the lens since the movie wasn't shot with a man following close behind ("follow shot"-thanks to wikipedia). It just took me out of the picture for a little while.

I haven't seen too many good movies recently. <_< They're all weird or stupid. Though someone said this was good, I read the novel The Children of Men. And it kind of creeped me out. So. XD

Saw it a couple of months ago. I didn't think it was too good, when I first saw it. It missed something, but later it got to me more, and I think it's pretty good. Going to see it again in a few days.
