It went away after hunter. Everyone was excited from it than forgot.

I think people have just forgotten about the linked updates and therefore lost interest. When/if Jagex release some form of summoning/necromancy, I think it will be very popular. Until then we just have to wait and see what bits of teasing info Jagex gives us.

Hey that's a great idea, if jagex wants to be flooded by all the mid- and low lvl kiddies complaining how they can't do this and that and they want to. So then they get their mommies and daddies to write angry e-mails to eveyone and finally Jagex has to give in. Face it, 90% of RS2 ppl are 12 or under and they are controlling the game with their puppy tears and sad little spaniel looks.
