Ok, so I recently started on an account called Bovvs, which is going to be a defence merchant. Stats are currently at 1 attack and strength, with 22 defence. Up till now I have trained at women/men in Lumbridge. Each man/woman would take me over a minute or so to kill. (Max hit 1 of course.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yesterday, while training on a man, I lost connection, and instead of just a short delay while my character stood idle and logged off automatically after 60 seconds, I had to wait longer as I waited for my character to finish killing the man.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Forgetting about that today, I went to the monks, where I decided I would stay until I got 40 defence. On a single monk I could stay for as long as I wanted because I rarely dealt damage, the monk never hit me, and could heal itself to full health easily. In other words, I would never die, and the monk would never die.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So the problem is this. What if I was to lose connection whilst training on a monk. I'm only raising defence so my attacking power won't change. Therefore, I would be kept logged in for...ever?

Nope, you're wrong, even if you don't click your mouse, you will stay continually logged in as long as you are being attacked.

even if your in combat, if you aint clicked or moved your cursor.the client suggests after a certain amount of time that your inactive or that your client has crashed therefore you evenutally get logged out : hehe

Lol, Imagine if you log back in (finally) you'd be 99 def. :shock:. But you would be damaged enough to die I'm guessing. Or you would luckily kill the monk slowly.

I doubt that because I used to train at Flesh Crawlers, and because they are constantly aggressive (until a period of around 10 minutes) I had to wait a long time after being disconnected to get bank into the server, which means I was probably attacked until they became non-aggressive.

I've been told, but not done it myself, that if you're logged in continuously on one server for 6 hours you get logged off.

Even If you're clicking around? Highly doubtful if you are actually ON the account, but it can't be said for accounts still "lagged" in.

whether they are auto attacking you , agressive, non agreesive or any type of combat.lol it will eventually happen usually about 2mins after it lol try it by disconnecting your internet when your in combat lol (dont take any armour or anything just incase you get owned though) haha = )

The thing is, I have a considerable amount of rares in this account. It is interesting how you say you disconnect your Internet and you automatically log out. Is this true? I have the feeling that your character will still be logged in fighting the monk.

yeah it would still be logged in, but i mean it wouldnt be for ever..just about 2 mins lol : well thats what normly happens to me = )

If you lose connection you'll still log out eventually. I've lost connection while fighting gargoyles and I couldn't finish them without using a rock hammer but after a minute or two my account logged out.

Are you 100% certain about this? If so, my fears will be gone. However, I have during the course of my training seen a level 90+ get killed by an evil chicken. I was sure that he had been disconnected because he did not move away/retaliate as he was attacked.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I am also sure that the chicken took over 3 minutes to kill him, which is why I doubt your statement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The reason I want to know so much about this is because as I have stated before, have various rares on this account, and the prospect of it being permanently logged in..well, I don't like it since it'll be gone forever. =p

Very strong points, I think I'll start training there again. And even if all else fails, a system update would definately knock me off wouldn't it? That said, do all worlds update on system updates?

Very interesting... Something like this happened to my friend, actually. We were at caslte (lvl 15 wild for the ones that live in a cave :-# ) and he lagged out and told me on MSN(chatting system) , but he was still attacking. Kinda the same thing that happened to you, huh?

Yes, I'm sure that after a while you would lag out, and besides, as was stated, customer support could help you if worst comes to worst.

Yes it's kind of bad for F2Pers... but that dosen't mean you would loose it indefinatly. After a good number of attempts, I'm sure they'd respond eventually.

what your doing at monks is illegal (its like afkign at bandits) unless your at your computer the whole time, my friend made a def pure and 3 itemed there all night but ht died to an evil chicken or something

You would be logged out after quite a while, but it would not take all day long. Because of the 10 seconds rule ( Which doesn't work that often, really ) you would log out pretty fast. But while fighting you will not log out. But after a while you would someway log out, even if you have lag. How? That I can't answer.
