Featured Replies

I was braging to someone I just met today; how i had beaten all the hardest quests (not all the easy ones yet; go figure) anyway and then an idea for a new quest hit me like a rock.

salve amulet

steel bar

hammer

recemended items:

good food

prayer pots

starting point:

talk to sir prysin in varrok castle (the one you get silverlight from)

starting out:

after you talk to sir prysin he will tell you to go to father lawrence because strange things have been happening around varrok. When you get there and talk to father lawrence he will tell you he has been investigating the strange happenings around town but belives that the source isn't in varrok at all and sends you to Drezel under the temple on the salve.

the journey:

Start going to the temple on a salve when you get to the steps infront of the temple the pathways will turn dark and fade; you will see a dark image of yourself named "Shadow (your name here)." The shadow verson of yourself will be your level +10 and will use the attack that beats yours. For e.x. if you use range he will use melee, if you use melee he will use mage, if you use mage he will use range. If you switch wepons in battle your counterpart will also switch. Same goes for armor. After you beat him everything will go back to normal. Go down and talk to Drezel. He will tell you some wierd things have been going on around the temple too. He will tell you to go speak to some saradominist investigating a mine. By that he means speak to Zealot.

At the mines:

When you get to the mines talk to Zealot. Tell him that Drezel sent you to see what he knew about the strange things that have been going on. He will tell you he doesn't know much but will ask if you know anything. Tell him that you ran into a shadow verson of yourself. He will think for a few seconds and then tell you he thinks he knows what happened. He will tell you to take your salve amulet down to the crystal chamber and put it on.

if you talk to him again he will ask you if you want him to show you a shortcut.

down in the chamber:

when you get to the crystal chamber put on your salve amulet and operate it. you will see the room get too dark for you to see anything. take it off to end this. Zealot will be down there now standing by a tunnel

go talk to him. You will tell him about what you saw and he will tell you to get a white gem from the big white crystal. Take it back to him and he will bless your steel bar, soda ash, and bucket of sand. He will tell you to cut that gem, and he will tell you through the tunnel he has placed a furnace and a anvil and on the other side is an exit to the surface. Make a bulls-eye lantren but when you make the lens you have to use the cut shining gem with the lens then attach the lens (The lens has to be attached with the gem). Light the lantren and go back into the chamber put on your salve amulet and operate it again.

the shadow world:

This time the room will become dim but you will be able to see. the crystals will become gray portals. The white crystal will be a colored in portal to varrok. Make sure your ready for a battle and go in.

concering the darkness:

When your there the center will be a portal back to the shadow crystal chamber. After a few seconds a shadow will show up and you have to use darklight and iban blasts.

killing the elemental shade:

lvl:275

hp:300

the shade is dangerous and has protect from range on the whole battle so thats out. The shade can hit 50's with mage and 30's with range and melee. remember the mother from horror from the deep? If not tip.it has great guides I sugest you start usin' 'em. So you know how the mother went:

white=wind

brown=earth

red=fire

blue=water

green=range

orange=melee

well the shade goes something like that but strike range

white=earth

brown=water

blue=fire

red=wind

orange=melee

now I bet your wondering why do I need darklight cant I just use my whip? well you can't. Darklight is a specal wepon in rs it's time it was put to some use. In the shadow world you can put a elemental power behind a wepon, but darklight is the only thing that will hurt the shadow monsters because it has been tanted with a monsters blood from that dimention. of corse your shadow counterpart could be killed by regular wepons because you are able to kill yourself without darklight. When he gets down to 100 hp he starts going to a clear mode, when he goes to clear mode use iban blast on him. When you kill him go back and talk to zealot. If you ask him where you were he'll tell you that that was varrok in scaperune. Some power from something there was making scaperune and runescape clash and the people of runescape could see the people of scaperune. Tell him you defeated the shade he'll tell you things should be back to normal.

quest complete

rewards:

5 questpoints

2k firemaking exp

5k smithing exp

15k crafting exp

30k mage exp

ability to make a shining amulet from a shining crystal giving 30%+ max hit on any monster plus a +5 str

e.x. my max hit is 22, 30% of 22 is 6 22+6=28

extra notes:

after the quest you can take darklight back to varrok in scaperune and get it changed by sir sinpry (sir prysin's counterpart) in varrok castle. It will be changed to shadowlight. Shadowlight not only hits demons good but now it will work on ghosts, shades, zombies, and vampyres too.

so tell me what you think, I worked very hard thinking of things to make this quest better.

seems good that some people actualy think things through like this so you get my support there but...

the crafting is kinda high...but i support :XD:

What about a 3rd upgrade to darklight? Im not good with names, but of course it should end with -light. I dunno, shadelight? Anyway, that is a good quest idea. I think that perhaps Jagex can work their magic with varrok, so perhaps as soon as you have the requirements, dark shadows of people will drift along the streets of varrok. You could stick in some funny effects such as the clothes on the tramp start to fade into really rich clothes, for example, top hat, y'know. He looks at himself, says 'what the...?' then the clothes dissapear again. Of course the opposite could happen to the duke for the family crest quest.

Jagex will add in their own animations to make the quest better in their opion.

An upgrade of darklight is a good idea though. maybe make it shadowlight. or a blessed darklight. I'll think about it.

I support ... but the crafting is too high... half the members dont even have that high crafting.

Lol, nice story. Well, I think the shining amulet is a bit too powerful, imo. Would make the game too unbalanced. I like the high requirements, makes you want to train something :)
The game is already unbalenced, this will most likly help.

Well All the hard quests are high combat lvl. I wanted to make a quest for high players, where you also need high non-combat too. it will make it more fun.
