According to The Sunday Times 2006 young persons richlist, Jagex made an operating profit of ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã2.7m on revenue of ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5.2m in 2005 (2006 accounts were not filed when the list was compiled) given the growth in the player base generally and of members in particular during 2006, no Jagex is certainly not dieing.

there are no stupid questions

just way too many inquisitive idiots

balance is scary to people who like things easy for them

for every 1 player that quits im sure 20 more start, 10 of those at least become member within 6 months of play, repeat this cycle and 70,000 players quitting wont do much, i read an article of top 10 biggest money makers in europe last year, andrew and paul where number 4 and 5 i believe with an income of 35-40million that year

this year im sure it will be 10-15million MORE then that, more players come in then leave, its not a slow moving game, one update a week is massive work, they have to think up so many new ideas just to keep people satisfied, and then program it all, test it as much as possible to make sure of no serious bugs, then finally release it within one week time

in rsc we where lucky to get a update every 2 months, and then it was just a small quest or bug fix.

jagex isnt shutting down.

Is Jagex Dying????

On the RSC rants forum rumored that over 600 people are quitting runescape to make Jagex have less money. I this rumor I would say this isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t going to happen but who knows. If this is for real here is the equation for 600 people. 600*5=$3000 if Jagex loses $3000 could that be a disaster. The answer is yes but a small one, very small. Maybe put 1 update off for a few days.

I dont know the player figures for RSC but if thats a major number they could just shut down one of the servers(converting it to RS2), thus attracting new people/ encouraging more people to play through an effort of trying making solitary training a bit more readily available will probably cause a bump in already increasing memberships, Jagex is building speed... and no one can stand against them, and quiet frankly I dont want too :-w

It's possible it may not have the same enthusiasm from new members coming on board (2005 and early 2006 especially).

Jagex may be AGING, but it's most certainly not dying.

Lastly, though your post has interesting ideas behind it, it's poorly written and argued. Next time craft a better argument/post in the first place and your ideas may get more attention.
