The 30 second delay between worldhops is not a technical limitation, it is a now redundant method of stopping people from constantly buying out all the runes in shops (among other things, but that was the main one at the time) using custom browsers that had auto-login features (RHQ's Xplorer in particular at the time). Same logic and same answer, there is no real number between 0.3... and 1/3 thus they are the same number. Or more precisely the suprenum of of the infinite sequence {0.3,0.33,0.333,...} is 1/3. Equally of course you can just take .999... = 1 and divide both sides by 3 to get the result.

Try taking alook at the section on Cauchy sequences (page 49-52) and using that to prove .9... = 1.

As such all 9's after the decimal point vanish when the subtraction on the right hand side in the third line is performed, and on the left hand side you are left with 9x which leads you to line 4. x = .999... 10x = 9.999... 10x - x = 9.999... - .999... 9x = 9 x = 1

Only a perfect being could prove who is right and who is wrong... and none of us have that attribute. In this case i'm a mathematics graduate (0.9... = 1 was actually covered in analysis), and a great many answers in mathematics are known and proven, they are called theorems. Its a construction entirely of logic, when something is proven it stays that way. Nothing can overturn it.
