February 1, 200719 yr Alot of people in f2p do airs instead of earths even if they dont care about the money. I just tested that to get to the earth altar is 4 seconds extra but earth runes still make up for it by about 25 extra exp. So what is the reason?
February 1, 200719 yr Air runes are needed the most. Plus, u still gain more XP because u can make more air runes as your level gets higher. U can't gain as much with earths because u need a higher runecrafting level to make more per essence. *-P.K.M-* Website

So what is the reason? If there was an earth running company then I would rc earths, but with the air runner companies, I usually rc from 3k to 9k ess per hour  Homeworld 25 - Pure F2P - 1549 Overall Always assisting crafting (99) or smithing (99) Always set to on privacy, unless too many random pms. February 1, 200719 yr Lets all say air runes have a higher demand overall than earth runes, as mentioned on the second post of this thread. Not to mention most magic spells require a minimum of one air rune to use.
February 1, 200719 yr Also, while you might not get more xp, you will get more airs (when you can craft multiple per essence). Thus making more money overall. If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.[hide=My Stats][/hide]
February 1, 200719 yr It isn't a small difference in demand, it's huge. Airs are easy to sell even in very large numbers. Nobody buys earth runes. And because of the relatively low level needed to craft 6 or 7 airs per essence, players can pay runners and still break even or make a small profit while training their runecrafting very quickly. February 1, 200719 yr yes, many spells need airs but not all need earths, (strikes bolts waves) for example, when its time to use fire wave, the earths u created are kinda useless, if u crafted airs, use the fire staff and let the poppin begin..hahaha :) :D  "The death of one man is a tragedy. February 1, 200719 yr not many ppl in f2p train rc... and staves are bought, the air staff wastes other elel runes cause u craft airs more
February 2, 200719 yr If RCing for cheap/free mage training: 1. RC Bodies & Earths, wield water staff, fail curse 2. RC Airs & minds, wield Earth or fire staff, strike from safespot If RCing to sell, the ease of selling Runes seems to be: 1. Air 2. Mind 3. Fire 4. Water/Earth 5. Body For level, with no other consideration, the shortened route to the body altar makes it qute good for storming a few levels. Golden rule, airs power most of the important spells, the attacks and teleports as well - the runes that tend to be short-stocked in the rune shops are airs and all the "missile" runes (mind, chaos, death).
February 2, 200719 yr Same reason more people don't craft bodies: they don't sell. That's all there is to it.
