Your best bet would be to use mage. Use iban blast if you have that, claws of gutix if you don't.

Stay out of melee distance from the giant scarab. Pray either mage or range. And don't forget an anit poison and a 1-click tele.

Am i just ignorant, or is the giant scarab the kq?

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

I believe he's refering to the giant bug at the end of the Contact! quest.

I still can't beat the thing either, and I'm 89 combat... Let me know if you figure something out...

I would say take monks or sharks, anti poison. some prayer potions. a 1 click tele like a tele tab or ectophial. For armor, dont take anything you dont want to lose. I used rune armor, almost died but then hit a 20 that killed the bug.

Use splitbark if you have that. Otherwise a combination of rune and mystic. Take sharks or tuna and corn potatoes as food. A 1 click tele and 2 prayer pots and 1 anit poison pot.

Thank You Jagex, The New Bank system Is here!

I used melee, I did the quest at 96 combat. Took me a few minutes, but my pray helped alot. For you, however, I suggest a super Set (all 4 dose), and 2 prayer pots (4 dose). Use protect from mage, and bring plenty of sharks. Concentrate on the Scarab. You'll do fine. ::'

If you hide behind the corpse, he won't melee you, so you can pray against ranged and use dhide armor.

How well will the magic guys strike though? I guess since you have protect from your dhide, they won'thit often... I need to do this. I got owned when I tried to melle it haha!
