The texture seems too simple, and the bright green grass doesn't fit. You might also want to fix the bottom right corner of the sky.

However, I really like the water and the sky. Very nice looking piece over all. Good job. :)

I like the water, what with the way it covers the gently sloping parts. I'm not too sure about the rounded-ness of the mountains. It seems sort of... miniature when they roll like that. (I mean the bottom sort of island part; the rest of it's fine. Could you make a darker, rocky texture to cover the lowest exposed section of the things?)

Two things seem to be missing.

1. The Storm

and

2. Paradise.

ok, and island is considered to be paradise by most, and if u cant tell that it is stormy in the picture well u need some help.

ok ice, you seem to know how to do it so ill ask you. how do you adjust the camera angle so that you can see the sky and or horizon. it seems like my angles are always right at the ground...

k, could you verify why?

in the terrain menu i think it is try adjusting the height above ground on the camera, or maybe raise the height of the camera target.

You'll find it's you that needs help if you think that is ANY type of storm.

O'rite Entangle, let's see YOU make a storm in Terragen.

Need some more lighting in the Atmosphere, I also suggest using 3D clouds if your already not. Also, use a darker colour of grass, and probally make the grass cover more. Add some more contrasting soil colours to the rocky/dirt underlayer (below the grass). Smooth out the water a bit too. Not that bad if your just starting out with Terragen. Keep it up.

No thankyou. I'd rather do it the frustrating, time consuming, EFFORT USING way, in a REAL 3D program.

I really hate when people say that... You try to give some CC/comments/opinion on the work, and some fool comes along and starts forcing you to do better... Now, I know Entangle's comment wasn't exactly the greatest constructive critisicsm or anything, but it was just a comment, he didn't say he cuold do better...

Ok, here goes my post.

First off , about the "storm" now Entangle, i'm preaty sure you have been in a storm before, if you haven't or just haven't gone outside to see one i will understand, and you can just skip this post compleatly.

Anyways, during a storm you do not see lightning 24/7. Yes, he could have gotten a lightning stock, and did some work with that, but it becomes preaty tough to do and the lighting effect's he'd have to do would be tough.

Now, also, as far as paradise goes, yours and his idea of paradise may be VERY different. just because it isn't what you think it is, doesn't mean you should spam up another post complaining about a program you know very little about.

now, as far as the C&C goes, i have a little bit of it. First off, i do realy like the atmosphere. Its the one thing in this peice that realy brings it together :P Now, the surface map can be fixed some. Considering it is a paradise, i'm just "guessing" that there would be a bit of a beach on it right?

So i recomend that you maybe study up the slope/altitude controls on your surface map thing, and create a beach. (by giving it a low max altitude and slope.) Then, i would recomend adding more realisitc grass layers, some brighter some darker, and then a nice rock layer as well.

Overall, i think that if the surfacemap was changed it could be a very nice looking peice. But i do like the storm, so props on that. :)

Nadril, the sky is way too nice and soft for a storm. If he really wanted a storm sky, then he should have gone with more a greyish coloured sky, and who said anything about Lightning?

Something else I also noticed, for a storm, there doesnt seem to be much going on. There could be Rain, Wind, Snow, Lightning visible, anyone of those, but instead, his "paradise" just sits there, dormant and still.

He probably just wants the raw Terragen render without postwork in photoshop or whichever program of his choice... and unless there's some secret version out there, I don't recall being able to add rain/snow/lightning in Terragen... which would explain why it doesn't look that much like a storm.

BTW not trying to start a arguement since someone will probably comment, I'm just mentioning why I think Ice Ring didn't do any of the things Entangle mentioned.
