curmudgeony
Two questions related to slaying for dollars Is the money made on white knight armor sales worth the investment in time it would take to kill all those black knights? What is the market for Granite shields looking like? With the new granite armors, there is a call for them, but with the new troll killin area up north, I suspect the market will be flooded. Any thoughts?
Gin_and_Tonic
Granite shields are generally low in demand, even with the new updates. They're roughly 80-100k... From my merchanting experience, the new Granite body only really sableised the price at around 100k. Also, i slayed over 1k Spectator Trolls, and didn't get anything but a few herbs. As for the flooded market; Granite legs (or full granite) would generally be opted by lower levels. As they cant normally afford it, they're priced out the market. Higher levels who can afford Granite legs, simply do see they point in buying them, as the defence is inferior to that of Torags, which is of a similar price. Because of this, it seems il-logical for them to want to purchase a Granite shield. Also, you'll notice players dont often keep Granite shields for long periods of time. I've seen numerous level 50-60's selling them, when they couldn't slay the monster that drops them. This factor just leads to circulation of the existing shields, and keeps the price the same. Due to the nature of the demand for Granite shields, i would suspect if people were to start bulk selling, the price would fall. In excess supply chokes up the excess demand, then the excess supply will need to fall in price, in order to sell. In a predicition however, i would highly doubt the supply of granite shields would ever exceed the demand; so the market would have no need to be flooded. PhelimReagh
Is there really a brisk market for white knight armor? I know that some folks will, on occasion, purchase it for a bit more than what you buy it from Sir Tiffy for, but I don't think it's enough to make a job out of. Killing dragons for their bones and hides are generally still very lucrative as far as making money while training combat.
