What most people seem to forget (as I havnt seen anyone mention it here yet), is that the demand for rune essense will not only increase because people with 77+ runecraft will try to make their profit when the altar is released, but also (and I believe the impact will be about as big) because of the people that will want to achieve 77 runecraft once Bloodcrafting is released.

so, as we have it right now, ess prices WILL go up for a little. So maybe an investment is worth it?

The thing is that nature prices will not rise. And here's why.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

People will continue to runecraft as long as they can make a profit. People will only buy the runes if they can profit off of them. Therefore, the nature rune price cannot and will not change. Even if pure essence goes up to 200, there is no NEED for natures to go up in price. The crafter still won't "lose" any money.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A good example of this was the switch from rune essence to pure essence. This hardly effected prices, and actually, the nature rune price DECREASED from 350 to 300 after the change eventually.

Honestly no idea what it'll be... I hope it's the blood altar and I've nearly managed to convince myself it will be, but for all I know it could be the ability to turn cowhides into life runes :D

Everyone(hyperbole) is talking about this theoretical blood altar, due in the near future, possibly this week. I'd like to point out that this will have some economic ramifications: It will drive essence prices up. Which, in turn, will drive rune prices up; which mill mostly kill the fletch-and-high-alch business.

 

 

 

It would be interesting to see chaos's go up in price.... which could possibly affect the price of furies(since chaoses are the main source of them, if chaos prices go up, people will sell their runes rather than cash 'em in at tzhaar).

 

 

 

That, or blood prices will go down. But probably the former.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So, if the former does occur; which it should; then wouldn't it be a great idea to invest a lot of cash into pure ess*.

Well it is going to blood if anything as jagex has a hidden picture of a blood tiara that me and other people have found. Pure essence prices wont go up but bloods will go down and there is going to be an update tomorrow because of a new poll :

Hmm, I just thought of another idea. Ancient magicks is a common type of magic used to barrows, mainly ice spells. Ice blitz and Ice Barrage both use blood runes. If the supply to blood runes rises, and blood prices fall, many will take advanted, stock up on bloods. If blood runes fail to go back up in price...these people will either settle for selling at current price, or go off and do some barrows with their newly crafted bloods. This in-turn will drive down prices of the following items:prayer potions(less demand), other runes, and more importantly, barrows armour. IF bloods are released, this could be huge.

the prices of blood runes will probably just fall a bit but the ess price would probably go up for like 2 weeks but if the price increase is enough it seems like it could be a worthwhile invesment

well, mojo, as everyone has said, rune prices may not go up, but ess prices will. Oh, and n64, that's a great idea

I don't think the blood altar would have that big of an impact, but if it did, that's quite interesting. A huge chain of dominoes ready to be fallen, just like the cold war :P

 

To add to that, I highly doubt Bloodcrafting will be released. The way BTS mentioned the runecrafting rewards, made me think of the construction update (which was like: we will release chairs you can actually sit on). Im not saying we will get a new skill, but summoning (as a part of magic) sounds very much possible to me, we've been waiting for ages now :-k

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

blood crafting and soul crafting will be released at some point in time because in the abyss there is already portals to go to those alters, they are just not active. but I doubt it will drive up pure essence prices much because even though people use quite a few bloods, the market isnt nearly as big as say, natures. also, the alchers as a group will probably not buy natures at prices much higher then now because they are barely breaking even as it is.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alchers do not actually break even as it is- alching is currently a money-loss operation. People pay more for items to alch than they will get when they alch the item and subtract the price that the natures cost.

Why do you feel the need to type like that? And barrows won't go down as most people use fire blast, veracs or slayer dart
