Chumley
Swiftswitch isn't illegal nor dangerous. Jagex even mentioned the owner of this software when then updated their rules a few weeks ago. It has been changed recently to comply with the new Jagex rules. I recommend using it, it's really useful.

I thought they changed it a while back so that all third party software was illegal :? did they change it again? Check out my Pocket Slot idea! np_tyler
Although SwiftSwitch is pretty much banned here at Tip.It. So, if you don't want to get in trouble, don't mention it here. - Np Tyler
np_tyler
Here's the update to the rule. I think that should show that it is legal, Eyrelex. - Np Tyler
PhelimReagh
Third-party clients that do not give you an unfair advantage are not against the rules. However, no third-party client is actually "legal", or any other term meant to imply that Jagex approves of their use. No matter how much folks like or trust the authors of these third-party tools, their usage poses security risks to both your RS account and to your PC and all that's on it. aoe325
To sum up everything : - Swiftswitch is a safe program, nothing will happen to your accounts - If using the lastest version of SwiftSwitch, you wont be banned. But dont talk about it ingame because it might be seen like advertising. Eyrelex : Swiftswitch and other third party clients have ALWAYS been illegal UNTIL Jagex made a recent change in their rules to allow them. Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07. Mordendravid
Although SwiftSwitch is pretty much banned here at Tip.It. So, if you don't want to get in trouble, don't mention it here. Tip.It have also changed their stance regarding SwiftSwitch and you are able to discuss the software here. Screenshots that include SS will also no longer be removed - though it is requested that users continue to crop as much as possible in order to preserve the formatting of the boards. Regarding the security of SS it is widely considered to be safe and many players use it. However, as a previous poster highlighted, no 3rd party software is endorsed by Jagex and their advice is not to use them. Since the new change to rule 7 made yesterday, the current version of SS (2.41) is outside of the guidance given by Jagex (i.e. Not legal) - at least to my understanding of the rules. The reason for this is as it links directly to the world select and players do not need to navigate through the runescape.com pages. I'm sure that the author of the software will work to ensure that SS complies with this new rule ASAP, in the same way that he did when the same rule was updated in January. Eyrelex
Eyrelex : Swiftswitch and other third party clients have ALWAYS been illegal UNTIL Jagex made a recent change in their rules to allow them. Actually they were allowed just frowned upon. No idea what the current situation is but it doesnt really affect me since i only use jagex's client anyways. Check out my Pocket Slot idea! PhelimReagh
...Swiftswitch is a safe program, nothing will happen to your accounts... That is just utterly false and ridiculous to make such a claim.
the_tallest1
Swiftswitch's "legality" can vary based on the version and is currently not within the latest rule changes but regardless of that discussion of it will not be allowed here. 1.1 - Breaking or encouraging others to break any of Jagex̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s rules Violating Jagex's official RuneScape Rules on this forum is cause for being permanently banned from the Tip.it forums. Private server pictures and posts about worldswitchers/toolkits are forbidden. This includes discussions about using a third-party client and posting links to websites containing third-party client software. In game screenshots taken while using the Swiftswitch Worldswitcher/Toolkit will be allowed provided that no links are provided to download the application and no discussion of the features and benefits of using them is included.
