  1. I like mining just because it's the first skill I started. And to think it's been through so many changes over the years, mining has rarely been as easy as it is now. Still extremely mind-numbing though (and I keep my screen deliberately low-contrast, which makes it hard to see the coal). If I started Runescape today, I probably wouldn't bother with mining knowing how hard it is to level up. But once you can mine coal at a decent rate, it's plain sailing
  2. Yep. Started playing when I was about 17 and now im 24. Can't believe i'm still playing it to be honest. Sometimes I take a year or 6 months off, but eventually I get a voice that says "what about all that time you put into levelling up?", then I relapse back into addiction :ohnoes:
  3. Levelled up Ranged and Magic a lot sooner
  4. Xil - 68 attack + 73 agility beats the other titles by about 10 levels can't remember my Fremmenik name
  5. I blame cellphones. Some of the most devastating corruptions of our language stem from the text messaging system where the number of characters you can send is at a premium, so naturally you want to cram in as many abbreviated words as possible whether or not the recipient will even be able to understand what you're talking about. That was then carried over to online chat rooms and instant messaging, and before long the entire internet. Just try and ignore it. Eventually people will grow up and realise how stupid it all is, and maybe even wish they had paid attention in english classes.
  6. I wouldn't support running faster, but running for a longer period of time would be best, in addition to regenerating a lot faster. So what im suggesting is keep the regeneration speed, and add to it so the run % decreases more slowly when you activate it. That would be the best way to do it, I think. More shortcuts are welcome, too. If you like making cosmic runes or killing blue dragons the existing shortcuts are useful enough, though.
  7. Has anyone noticed this yet? I only just got around to doing this diary, and after wasting about an hour of my life doing ingloriously newbish tasks, I'm left with only one thing preventing me from getting the ring. The Fred the Farmer part (where you just have the walk into his farmhouse, probably the easiest thing in the whole of Runescape) - will not trigger, when you walk through his gate, his door, stand in every square of his building, I have tried everything exhaustively, to no avail. Reported this bug some days ago but nothing has been done yet it seems. So if you haven't done the diary yet, feel free to encounter this highly annoying, incredibly lame bug, and then send a report. Thanks.
  8. I'd probably take the short(ish) drive to Cambridge, find Jagex HQ and rip someone's face off (with my dragon claws, of course) Seriously though, I do wonder if Runescape just "shuts down" one day, what will become of all your stats, items, etc? I would hope Jagex gives sends you ....hmm...1 pound for every 10,000gp worth in your bank. That would be nice  Maybe send everyone a memorial bronze plaque as well, with all your levels engraved on it, for all to see
  9. As simple as it sounds, I'm having issues with this one. I do what it says... open the gate, walk in, open the door, walk into the house. Nothing happens. I even talk to Fred the Farmer. Nothing happens. It's the last one I have to do, but it's not letting me complete it. Help! I'm having the same problem. I've done all the other tasks, which were tedious and time consuming. Maybe I would have enjoyed it if I was a level 10
  10. Exactly. Still, if you are muted, it's probably best if you just turn off public chat. If you can't reply to them, what's the point of being able to see what they're saying? That's just my two cents. Whenever I strike an area full of 12 year olds (judging from their language), I just switch the chat off and go about my business.
  11. Brand recognition. All I want for Christmas is money for RuneScape (and beer!) \
  12. I feel I should chirp in here.... good guide, but you're missing something very important...strategy! Most people in the agility arena get to the pillar and receive their ticket, and then simply stop and wait for the next ticket. Any time you are standing still is time being wasted. The best strategy is once you have collected your ticket, always to go back to the central column (in-game this can easily be identified as the one with spin blades to the north, darts to the west, low wall to the south and pillars to the east). The reason for this is, let's say you need to collect a ticket from one of the corners: once you have collected this ticket, and stand around for awhile, the next ticket might be one column apart from the opposite corner, 7 obstacles away. Now, that's already making it difficult for you to get the next ticket (especially if you have 40's/50's agility) and failing an obstacle a couple of times (or falling once) will mean you probably miss out. If, however, you returned to the central column after collecting your first ticket, the next ticket would only be 3 obstacles away, giving you a much greater margin of error. By this method of always returning to the center, the furthest any ticket could be away is 4 obstacles, making it a lot easier to not miss a ticket. I have never missed a ticket using this method (apart from random events of course). In addition, this method maximises your agility experience. For the time you are spending standing around you are essentially missing exp. If you have free-time until the next ticket, train on the low wall (which is conveniently connected to the central column). Sure, it is not much exp but still more exp than you get for standing still.
  13. Probably ranging. Which is odd because i'm rubbish at it in RS.
  14. How about the rewards? I reckon there will be access to a bank in the mining guild for doing the hard tasks, like with the Varrock diary. People complain about mining being tedious, that might make it a bit better.
