RuneScape Information

  1. Shut your mouth and make me a sammich woman! Don't make me give you ANOTHER black eye!
  2. I think the only thing that concerns me is the reasons for being unique. The person who did 99 slayer with 10 hp was doing it for fun. She already had a maxed account, and had done other accounts in the past. She enjoyed achieving goals. Others players, *cough 3hitu cough* who are in it for bragging rights, such as 'Oh I was the first one to ______' are pathetic. You don't need to brag about it, and I'm pretty sure nobody cares. tl;dr - do it for fun, not for fame, dont brag
  3. I'm sorry, but I don't have any physical proof of the price adjustments besides that I was actively playing during that time and witnessed it. Skillcapes did indeed have a direct effect on efficient training methods. Prior to skillcapes, I would see maybe 1 or 2 other people training fletching with me at the castlewars bank. However, the day that skillcapes were announced to be released sometime that month, 10+ people popped up every time that I logged on to also train. Because of that new demand of raw materials, buyers were harder to find and people were being forced to pay significantly higher prices to buy their items. At one point, I had to switch to fletching willows instead of yews because yew longbows were no longer a profitable item to fletch. Could someone with some sort of price graph showing the rise of raw materials post it please? Because I'm positive that the capes adjusted prices majorly. Ah! I understand now, and thank you for taking the time to explain. :D However, fletching is a buyable members skill. At the moment, the buyable skills in F2P are Firemaking, Cooking, Smithing, Crafting, and Prayer. None of these are independently profitable, meaning making skillcapes a F2P item wouldn't harm these skills drastically.
  4. But skillcapes where a big part of it. And many ways that used to be profitable are now gone. And if there is a way to trian profitable skills it goes down excluding most combat spots. Do you have any evidence to show that prices even went down? The reason profitable ways to train are gone are because they became; -ineffiecient due to the demand of players. -revealed as an effective method, and then abused. -less effective/efficient than a new method. Skillcapes did not have a direct effect on efficient training methods. That's absolute theory, and a ridiculous one at that. ^KenshinJapan, refer to this, I have to go, sorry I couldn't make a post directly to you.
  5. And if they make skillcapes ftp i guarantee that members will be ranting. Not to mention the effects on the runescape economy. Before the skillcapes release, some of the best ways to train skills efficiently were very profitable. However, once the capes arrived, prices skyrocketed and now there are almost no ways to train the majority of skills without taking a major loss. How much worse do you think the prices of those materials would get if at least triple the amount of people had an incentive to max too? Economy this, economy that, you ought to play election bingo. Grab a card and place different words around the card, in bingo format, and try to make a line. (Hint: use words like Economy, healthcare, citizen etc.) OT: Prices did not skyrocket because skillcapes were realeased, it was a string of updates. And no, achieving a 99 has not become more difficult or any less profitable than it has in the past, in fact there are many effective ways to train and combat skill effectively and still profit! (See armoured zombies, aviansies etc.) Other than that, once again, skillcapes aren't the only reason that prices (according to you) rised; just one of many.
  6. 1st article was boring and uneeded. Nuff' said. 2nd article was a bit uninformative. He didn't provide any examples. All he did was describe what a trailblaizer was. What's the point...? Very cool DYK though, wtg! :
  7. I did exactly that, but it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy a little castle wars along with it. Some body in this very thread claims to, I would name who but I can't remember (I even thought today was friday  ) This is exactly what I've been saying. perfetc, There is nothing wrong with buying membership and using it the way you want to. You must have misunderstood that. Your right there isn't but forcing people to do as a means to get a cape is just unfair. 13 - 16 year olds who's perants wont let them get members now can't have a cape cos of there perants unwillingness to pay £3.50 is just harsh and I don't think jagex are ever going to adopt this idea. That might not be his aim but that is what it will lead to, people being left out cos they can't buy membership for 1 month to collect there capes. Imagine yourself in that postion, full f2p 99's and tight perants. [/hide] What the friggin hell.. Someone made a screw up cos i "AnthonyL" made that IDEA: quote not Angus.. Jesus Christ #-o Unspam: You think of a better idea then or shut the hell up.. : Neither of you read what I said. An F2P player becoming a member, SOLELY for the purpose of getting a skillcape is ridiculous. Yes, it may be one reason, but nobody with an IQ over 50 would get membership, get the skillcape and then go back and stick to F2P worlds. That's just silly, and very egotistical - you're only getting it to show off in such a case. It is much more difficult for somebody to achieve a 99 in F2P. A 99 is a 99, and there is no reason why any person, member or non-member, shouldn't be able to hold bragging rights over it. The stats of the cape would also be beneficial, yet still not a dramatic increase such that it would effect F2P. That being said, in the future please read other's posts more carefully. A maxed player telling me to 'shut the hell up' made me laugh. You are very socially akward, and now I know why!
  8. An F2P player becoming a member, solely for the purpose of getting a skillcape is ridiculous, nobody would do that. Please stop using it as a reason why they shouldn't become available to non-members.
  9. Conflict is a joke. It's very easy to win; just pile onto a special terrain spot and kill anybody who attacks you. Special terrain is VERY effective, to say that it isn't shows you're ignorant. The rewards aren't worth it. I haven't seen the rank 200+ yet, but the time required to get 100 rank can be used to make waaaay more than I expect 400 to be.
  10. Tip.it is by far worse. Compare the clan chats 'Runescape' and 'Forsakenmage', you'll quickly find out that everybody here think they know everything.
  11. "my mom dead" "cuz she suicide" "she no want you" LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
  12. Never been hacked, know I won't because I don't go to bs websites. Only people who've tried to hack me were old friends etc.3
  13. Do you mean like Sharpen Axe, Architect, Stun Fish, and Master Chef? I wouldn't say these affect the stats of your skill, it doesn't raise your woodcutting level by 10, it makes you cut faster with a regular axe. So, lets say you have a WC level of 39. If you casted Sharpen Axe, your WC level would still be 39, and not 47 - but you'd cut willows 20% faster than you normally would with your adamant axe. I understand the concept, but no other magic skill does that -- that's what herblore and summoning are for.
  14. I don't understand most of the spells in the spellbook, which is why I don't support it. Some of the ideas seem great, but some need more thought put into them, such as the stat-adjusting spells: magic wasn't meant to affect non-combat stats (at least not directly)- that's what herblore is for. However, I can comment on the items section! :) Elemental staffs - Way too convenient, especially for only 100k. Mudstaffs were 2m for quite awhile, the only reason they are as low as they are now is because DKing has become easy and profitable. It was too profitable and now it's where it should be. All of the staffs have ridiculous requirements, especially the mind staff. -There shouldn't be a requirement, just like the rest of the staffs already made. The same goes for the rest, except for the Mod/Vogue which should also become 70. Their stats are a little too high, but that's just my opinon. -Mind runes become useless after level 13, allow them to use it at level 1. All of the armours are great as they are, however the requirements should require less magic and more defense. Drop all the magic limits by 20 and make them have defense requirements of 20/40/60 (contemporary/vogue/mod). Defense is essential or it will give pures a massive advantage, and make training much easier for those with low defense. I think the 'Modern' sets have a poor name, seeing as the game takes place in the middle ages. I don't have a suggestion as to what it SHOULD be, but you should look change it. I'll take a closer look at the spells and tell you what I think about them tommorow. Other than my rants above it looks like a pretty good idea! Edit: I'll take a look at the quest too, I have to go though.
