Where women glow and men plunder
  1. Gambling is bad but carving each other up with swords is just peachy? There's a whole skill devoted to stealing things, an almost unlimited supply of beer, wine and spirits and the use of performance enhancing 'potions' is actively encouraged. And you're worried about people gambling with runescape gp? Get your head out of your rectum mate.
  2. I'm male, with a female character. My character is not me, I am not my character. If I'm going to stare at the backside of a cartoon character for two hours, I want it to be a nice-looking one.
  3. Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ... no wait... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha .. .almost there... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Ah... No more arrogant twits coming up to me when I'm peacefully mining, fishing, farming or otherwise minding my own business and saying "Stake me nub 500k my rules" If you enjoy duelling, then duel for the enjoyment of it. If you rely on staking to make money by taking advantage of people then sucked in.
  4. So you deny the low-levelled miners the ability to sell to you at a reasonable price, forcing them out of the market, then you complain when you have to go to the only ones you've left in the market? Do us all a favour and go play on the road.
  5. I fail to see how spending 12 hours a week playing runescape is in any way different to spending 12 hours a week reading comic books, building model aircraft, collecting stamps, playing the guitar, writing short stories or any of the thousand other hobbies someone might have. From what I remember of being 15 we had school for around six and a half hours a day, five days a week, probably an hour or two homework on top of that - so say 8 hours out of five of seven days taken up by school. Spent maybe 8 hours sleeping. Which leaves around about 72 hours of leisure time per week. Take 12 out of that to play runescape and you've still got 60 hours to read a book, kick a football, go see a movie with friends etc, etc, etc. Seems like this is a fairly normal sort of kid who's parents actually don't have a clue what he does, and a journalist looking to fill some column inches with nothing.
  6. The responsibility lies squarely on the shoulders of the parents. Don't like the fact that your kids are your responsibility... that's easy, keep your zipper done up. A tobacco company could 'advertise to children' - it's still my responsibility to my children to monitor the television they watch, and - should they see an advertisement for something I disapprove of, educate them as to why its not a good idea. I'm not really sure how you think a tobacco company could "make it possible" to smoke in schools. Whether or not smoking is allowed in a school or not should be an issue for the school... last time I checked, the tobacco companies didn't own any schools, but if they did, and they allowed smoking in them, then it's still my right and responsibility as a parent to find out about the smoking policy of a school before I decide whether or not to send my children there. Likewise with the books and free cigarettes, what my children obtain is my responsibility to filter - not the tobacco companies, not the government, not the community. Any prospective parent who feel that anyone but themselves should bear any responsibility for the upbringing of their children other than themselves and their partner needs to make an appointment with a vasectomy clinic right away. - Father of two very happy, well adjusted children who enjoy sitting on dad's knee watching him carve up a dragon or two before bedtime.
  7. You need to complete all of the quests to get it. And most of the quests are members only. 2 + 2 = ?
  8. The people who complain are the ones who's emotional maturity has not yet reached the level where they can see Jagex's existence as being anything other than for their sole benefit. They are the same players who treat other players in-game as simply another set of resources to be exploited. On a subconscious level, they cannot rationalise the little cartoon characters that they see on screen as having living, breathing, feeling humans sitting behind their controls. As such they treat the game as if they are the only ones playing it. So if Jagex does something that doesn't suit their immediate need - they complain. Such people - in life and in computer games - are best ignored until they grow up.
  9. Killing chaos druids for any length of time (like enough to get an inventory full of decent herbs) will see you swimming in mith bolts.
  10. Between that and the Edgeville furnace, I think the Varrock achievement diary has been my favourite update in the years I've been playing. Not to mention a handy "upgrade to members" feature on the Runescape website.

    SICKENED :(

Because you can't find the capslock key on your keyboard let alone look after an entire runescape character.
  12. I've never smoked a trap... by the time you get three or four traps up and running there's just no way you can afford the extra time.
  13. Why would you not simply train your own skills and sell the resultant materials?
  14. I'm starting to think that certain sectors of the tip.it community are simply pretending to be this dense in order to get a rise out of anyone with a functioning prefrontal cortex. I wish people would read, digest, have a parent explain to them if neccessary, the rebuttals to your arguments that have already been made in this thread. You can not assist and train at the same time. To spend the time that it would take to assist someone to earn 30k worth of experience in a day would mean spending that time not training your skills. So if you have the skill level to smith addy plates, and someone with a low smithing level borrows you to make steel plates, the XP you could have earned making addy plates in the same amount of time would have been greater than the amount you earn from lending your level out to make steel ones. People can do whatever they are able to find a willing assistant to let them do. There is a big difference. See the earlier points regarding no 85+ level miner standing around while a level 3 mines rune ores. However you have never required a level to have someone else do something on your behalf. You've never required a high farming level for someone else to grow torstol and give it to you. All the assistance update does is formalise that process removing any possibility that someone will run off with someone else's stuff as a result of trust-trading.
  15. Confirmed... I just got 0xp for picking my Dwarf Weeds :(
