Chain Legs/Skirts?

Hmm... There is a high-classed armour set (full helm, platebody, platelegs, etc.), bu the low-classed armour set doesn't seem to be complete. SHouldn't there be chain legs too, to complete the picture? Maybe a lame and useless suggestion, but just wondering.

i'm not sure if they had "chain legs" as such, but they did have someting called "Hauberk mail" which (i believe) is a type of light armor made from metal scales. if that kind of thing was done for legs, i'd agree.

so yes, i like this suggestion. perhaps it shouldn't hinder a ranger as much as plate legs.

Since chainmail is designed to give rangers an armour bonus without a penalty (with no bonus), this would be nice too. Great for low to mid level hybrids.

What do u mean by
the low-classed armour set doesn't seem to be complete
?
he means that there should be full chain. chain coif would be cool. if theyd remove range bonus and added it to ranger bows this would be a really good choice for rangers vs melee guys. it would give no negative, but also no positive mage def bonuses. would also be cool for melee/range hybrids that do have some defence

Yeah... there is a high level armour set (full helm, platebody, platelegs and maybe kiteshield) but no low level armour as a set (medium helm, chainmail, square shield... where's chain legs to complete the picture?).

Thats like the exact same thing as your first post... Who ever said there'd be two "full sets" of armour? I really dont think chain legs and skirts are needed. They'd be useless, since the "new" armour would be made of metals, like we have, but would have lower stats... So where is the use? Rune plate legs and skirt are already cheap enough as it is.

I know that it is rather pointless, but I am a perfectionist, so yeah...

Well the old Chainmails where smithable (y are they removed anyhow?)

But I dont think the new ones should be cheaper than the ordinary armour pieces (plate legs) I rather say that these chain armour will be archer armour because you can move better in it, so that they should be less good in defense bonusses and they have a small archer bonus.

That gives low level archers the opportunity to use some more defensive armour which will protect them better in the wilderness against melee-based warriors but they still have a small bonus in ranged so they dont get badly affected, its like the defensive version of dragonhidearmour then.

The armour will still be bad against magic of course..

About the chainmail.

I reccomend that it give a stat boost to users wielding a crossbow.

The bloody thing needs at least a little bit of a boost. Most crossbowmen wore chainmail anyways.

Then they made interlocking sheets of metal that meant that the new english yew longbow wouldn't kill them. Chainmail is old, it was used as protection from small arrows and even then it wasn't that good

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
