  1. I'm not sure why people feel like writing long posts on this thread when they don't really know what they're talking about. I have always enjoyed playing RuneScape although Jagex has made many mistakes. Rather, the most important reason for my stopping playing, by far, is that I wanted to spend more time on other things. Not that I wasn't doing other things already- my long term average playing time was just over six hours a day, not the 10+ many people seem to think- and remember that includes weekends, breaks, summers, as well as time spent playing without paying much attention while doing something else, like homework. But I quit because I wanted to spend more time on things I'm interested in, like learning computer programming, rather than just playing a game than in the end doesn't matter. And no, I don't want to be a games programmer- there's so much more you can do with computers than that. It saddens me that people like Drumgun would pass off my leaving as "not being able to keep up playing efficiently" or similar rather than realize that RuneScape is a computer game. I also see that some people can't handle the fact that I have videos and are unable to think for themselves and consume media critically. Some of my videos show skilling methods that I used significantly and some do not. A 2 minute video may or may not accurately reflect training over a longer period, and a 2 minute animated talking Lego person video may carry a message but may mostly be for fun. I think Aribiterspar really hit the nail on the head when he said "theres a big difference between doing everything max possible all the time or just making efficient training decisions that decrease the time it takes to get things done". In any case, if anyone has any questions about how I actually trained skills or how I felt about various game updates or something, you are welcome to ask me on my YouTube channel and I will probably answer if you are mature and respectful. (Eventually I will check my channel less and less often though). Anyway, I think that everyone should really take a step back and consider if there is something else that you could be spending more time on rather than playing RuneScape. There's a lot more to life than computer games. Even if you only play for a short time each day the same applies- what else could you be doing?
  2. Lol what's up with these bs effigy rates? For mutated bloodvelds I've gotten 17 effigies in 14286 kills (1 per 840 kills) and for black demons I've gotten 22 effigies in 12622 kills (1 per 574 kills). That's 1 per 2.0 hours at mutated bloodvelds and 1.9 hours at black demons ON TASK. I always check the A log so I don't miss any, even if I miss them ingame (which extremely rarely happens.)
  3. Woah I didnt know you had an account on Tif :o

  4. Well someone told me I would think this thread is funny, so I read some of it. And it IS funny... you guys act like you're talking about a dog race or something, lol. It isn't necessarily your business what others are doing, what they aren't doing, or what you think they're doing but really aren't. The calculations that Arcane posted were interesting, however- they really show how much easier RS is becoming.
  5. As Lucipher6 was banned unjustly, clearly the system is not 100% accurate. Therefore, appeals definitely should be allowed. Lucipher was able to get a mod looking at his account quickly by having a friend post in the maxed forum, but of course not everyone has that luxury. He was NOT macroing and this is not a "second chance"; this was a mistake by Jagex and never should have been banned in the first place. Also although maybe it sounds good for everyone to have an equal chance, it just doesn't seem right for Jagex to put as much thought into banning the rank 3 in RuneScape as into banning a level 3 in basic clothes chopping a yew tree.
  6. I take it that you are implying it would take much longer. At 75+ you can do a run with magics, palms, and calquats in about 10 minutes and get about 130k xp which would be 13m xp in under 17 hours. 40 hours is a much more conservative estimate for 1-99 that I intended to take into account going from 1-75 with lower leveled trees, maybe growing yews instead of magics afterwards, and maybe farming herbs for cash. And buying the seeds, setting up your bank to do farming runs, figuring out how to do farming runs quickly, and making saplings. If you're one of those people who like to look at palms taking 20 hours to grow or whatever and count that as 20 hours of training maybe you should use your head and think about how much time you actually spend training.
  7. Oh so anyone who puts thought into a post is a nerd? Btw if you had actually read my post you would know that I copied half of it from somewhere else (something I wrote months ago).
  8. I am Zarfot and am rank 21 overall. I posted this a while ago somewhere else regarding how long 2376 total could take training very efficiently. Slayer with stats 1-99 could average about 22k xp/hour = 600 hours total which would max 7 skills. 12M agility is needed because 1M comes from barbarian fishing which is 220 hours at DK. You can fletch adamant bolts while training agility and could get 30M fletching xp from this without losing much agility time at all. 13M mining could be done at 60k xp/hour average = 220 hours. 13M prayer could be done in 40 hours with dragon bones. 13M herblore could be done in 40 hours with brews. 13M magic and smithing could be done in 130 hours superheating gold. 13M crafting could be done in 60 hours with hard leather bodies then green dragonhide bodies. 13M construction could be done in 55 hours with oak doors. 91 Rc could be achieved in 150 hours with ZMI altar, and 99 could be done in 270 hours from then with 27k xp/hour with Graahk. 5M firemaking comes free from woodcutting with an inferno adze, and 8M can be done in about 30 hours with various logs. 13M woodcutting could be done in 200 hours at 65k xp/hour. 13M fishing could be done in 260 hours at 50k xp/hour average. 13M farming could be done in about 40 hours with trees. 2M cooking would come from fishing and 11M could be done in 40 hours with sharks. 13M hunter xp could be done in 130 hours at 100k xp/hour average. 13M thieving could be done in 70 hours blackjacking. Add 100 hours for quests and other things and you have 2655 hours. Graahk runecrafting would supply most of the cash for the expensive methods, the rest would be obtained via merchanting with almost no time loss which is quite easy currently. I think it's pretty clear that maxing is possible in well under 3000 hours which could be done in under 2.8 hours a day for 3 years. Personally it took me over 3 years to max. Granted, I got 30m xp in runecrafting and also 99 slayer twice (since summoning came out after I got 99 slayer), and also RS evolves and faster/better methods are released/discovered, so I'm not claiming that I averaged 2.8 hours a day, but this shows that people with maxed stats do not necessarily play as much as many people believe. Personally I am in school, in sports, play a musical instrument, and also work 6-10 hours a week. That keeps me very busy, more busy than most people tbh. However I chose to spend most of my free time on RS and that is my own choice. Playing RS for me does NOT affect what really matters- school, work, and sports- as those always get first priority. The reason I decided to try to quit was that I wanted to do other things with my free time besides just playing one game. However I just started playing another game so that is why I decided to go back to RS. Again, this is my FREE TIME and it is a person's own choice what they want to do with their free time. In my opinion people who do things like go do drugs or go to drinking parties during their free time are the ones who really should be picked on. RS is just a game and if someone wants to play it that's their choice. By the way I sleep about 8 hours a night and have never stayed up all night to play RS and very rarely play past midnight.
  9. Iron is the same speed at far lower cost. Uhh only if you're talking about magic xp. Good luck getting 100k+ smithing xp per hour superheating iron.
  10. Very nice guide, and although I won't be using either method, these are almost certainly the fastest ways to train ranged and melee. I've never seen a really good guide to chinning that gets into the best spot and how to get the most xp per hour but this one does.
  11. Although you get randoms at Tai Bwo Wannai village, some people might prefer it to Ape Atoll when powercutting because there is a sound effect when cutting, so you can hear if you've stopped, and there are two spots with two trees you can cut without moving, instead of just one spot. I also remember collecting some data that the adze burned like 29.9% of the logs I cut, so I assumed it was exactly 30%. Are you sure it's less than that? You also said that cutting and burning teaks is the best overall method to train woodcutting and firemaking, but it would be faster xp to powercut teaks and then buy yew, eucalyptus, or magic logs and burn them. Although more expensive, that could be a better method for some people.
  12. Nice tip. I wasn't aware of this method. However, it is misleading to say that you profit from alching if you crafted the natures; you actually are profiting from crafting the natures and then losing a little from alching, for an overall profit. The profit comes from the runecrafting, not the alching.
  13. Firemaking isn't really tied to a spot if you are comfortable lighting fires in any direction. The Grand Exchange area is huge.
  14. I suggest you go back to bandits and try them again. They can be much faster than 60k xp per hour, and the rate increase hugely when you get 65 so you can blackjack Menaphites. Before 91, blackjacking can give far faster xp than is possible at Pyramid Plunder. Just because you may have had trouble with blackjacking doesn't mean you should recommend Pyramid Plunder to everyone. If you never can get blackjacking down, fine, but I think you should give it another try.
