Investigating the Wise Old Man
Latinoking excelent pics. . In the first one I notice the sheilds on the wall are IDENTICLE to the ones in Lumbridge. Now I am starting to wonder where Lumbridges loyalties are. Again, maby it's a coincedence but I think not. EDIT: It has sudely occured to me that Kandarin is a kingdom not a city #-o

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Now, Part 3/3 of the "Citys with castles" investigation by Randox. This one is diferent than the other 2. Because there is truly nothing to outstanding (as always this is not entirly true, there is a mystery) I have decided to focus mainly on symbols. Now I must state that my symbol reference is from the construction skill guide, where it shows what crests can be assigned to the player. I have assumed that this is the most offical symbol guide I can find, as no other symbols have been confirmed in there meaning by TB@JT. [hide=Click for symbol refference sheet] [/hide] Now you will notice that only varrock has its own symbol aside from the one for the kingdom, falador uses the symbol of asgarnia, and lumbridge, well I'll get to that. Lumbridge, since it dose not seem to have its own symbol, should use the symbol of misthalin, which is green and purple, and bears the shape simaler to an X. It dose not, as you see in the picture bellow Lumbridge uses the colors blue and silver and the symbol shape of...wait for it...Kandarin? [hide=Click to see entrance banner picture] [/hide] I would propose that this is a new symbol, that must now be player classifyed. Perhaps one of our members would be so nice as to supply us with some useful background information on the city Kandarin, I will see what I can dig up on the runescape website myself. Weather this is a happy coincedence or something more sinister shall be told once I have reserched this city more myself. Note: the area guides have no information on the city kandarin. So now we have a possible connection to a city I know nothing about (theres a first time for everything I suppose) Lets take a break from the seriousness of the investigation and look at my pics from around town. With little bits of info and my thoughts of course. [hide=CLick for archive of around town pics] [hide=Fred the farmer] Just a local farmer who belives there is some "Thing" out there that wants to eat his chickens. He refuses to belive in the penguins. I belive he has 23 sheep, including the penguins, rams, and lambs. [/hide] [hide=Goblin House] This house has been taken over by goblins. As we can see from the ruins, the house was once bigger but has deteriorated over time. [/hide] [hide=The new cows] These are just incase you havent seen the new cow design. I hadent noticed the new look and figured maby you guys hadent either so I posted this pic. [/hide] [hide=Water wheel] The water turns the wheel but that wheel powers nothing. But I think it looks cool and thats why its here. [/hide] [/hide] [hide=View of castle] [/hide] Um..this is basicly to give you an idea of what the castle looks like from way up on top of the main (and only) gates tot he castle. [hide=Wall banner] [/hide] Here is the infamous wall banner that could mean nothing. As I have staed before, I only know of this banner appearing in varrock, lumbridge, and the dark wizard tower. There might be more places, but I think theres more of these banneres here than in the varrock palace. [hide=Entance] [/hide] Now were into some neat stuff and really most of the focus of the rest of the investigation. We all rember the red and black saradomin carpet symbol, well lumbrige has that, but it also has the carpet in blue and silver, what I belive to be the towns colours. Since this is high detail, it could be meaningless or not. [hide=Dining room] [/hide] Now this is interesting. Look at the table, there are 2 big chairs that look like there for the king. This is the plot part of my investigation, and really the part you guys should be paying attention too. I have found evidence to there being a queen of Lumbridge, either that of the advisor, sigmond, gets the same bed and chair as the king (not likely). [hide=Kings room] [/hide] Well its the kings room and its here for comaprison to what I belive to be the queens room (See below). Now if I am right, where is the queen. Although come to think of it she wouldnt be a queen because Lumbvridge has no King, it has a Duke. Lumbridge still reports in part to Varrock, where the only King in misthalin resides. So what do you call a female Duke? (Dutches maby). Anyways, she isent there unless I'm going blind. I [hide=Queens Room?] [/hide] Now KingWenlock had informed me I might see a sun, on one of the banners maby? ANyway I saw no such thing, so either give specific directions or post a screenie. I do appoligise for eradic capitals and poor spelling, I hope it dose not cause manby problems. I hape you all enjoy this as much as the last 2 investiugations, and is there anyplace else I should be going before the tower, because I definatly have more time on my hands than you guys. And I would request (after seeing the results) that pictures be posted using the 'hide code' Heres the format: [hide=(what you put here is the clickable title of your hide)] [img=(img url here)] [/hide] It just keeps me and everyone else from having to scroll alot on one page and lord have mecy on someone who tries to load page 59 on dial-up if all the hide codes were removed :ohnoes: I personaly have a little over 21 mb of poictures relating to this investigation (would be large if I saved the non croped pics, but I crop before saving) Thank-You

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Looking at Wenlocks pictures I sudenly rember why I should investigate on high detail. Now, I propose a pratical explanation as to why ther are dark wizzards at the draynor willows. Rather than be a part of the plot, I belive them to be anti-macro devices, since most macros are level 3 and the dark wizards are aggresive. This makes it immposible for low level macros to train at the draynor willows without interuptions. Now maby they are both what I suspect and part of the plot. I heading out for lumbrige now, let the investigating begin!

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I shall hold up on the tower at your request. You are rigth, the tower should be the grand finaly. Besides lumbridge hasent suffered any proper scrutany this whole investigation. Welcome to the investigation Latinoking. I have all day tomarrow to do the investiagtion so the results should be up in about...oh...say in 12 hours from this post, give or take an hour. This is assuming I get up when the alarm goes off and not 2-3 hours later (I am really lazy in the we hours of the morning)

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Hmmm.. I shall have to check this out sometime between now and tomarrow about this time. And when I said investigation of wizzard tower, I meant draynor, which includes the tower.

Runescape movies
If this belongs in general help and advice I am truly sorry. I was wonder if anyone has a link or something to the threds with movies that people on tip.it have made. I'm looking for movies other than pk videos but I cant find them any more. Any one know what im talking about or where I should look?

Concerning multi-combat areas.
Shouldnt be a problem though I would consider it very rude of my self if I went to al kirad and started attacking the palace gaurds, because I'm 77 combat and I could obviously train someplace else without inconvieniaencing(interesting spelling eh?) a whole load of other people. I don't normally train in multi combat so that I avoid all the other people atting what im attacking thus slowing my leveling.

Weekly Poll: What's your favourite kind of RuneScape update?
I'll just agree with zaaps, the other updates don't affect f2p so I don't care about them much.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
We dont know why the bed looks different, but it dose have the same examine as both of the kings other beds. That skelleton attacks you during the restless ghost, and again we dont know how it got there. Perhaps my next world class investigation should be of the tower and not lumbridge? And incase you all havent notices those last to investigations seem to have inflated my ego to dangerus levels, I better let the satisfaction and compliments wear off before the next investigation (either that or its because its now 12:01 pm). I'll go to bed now before I say something really stupid that i'll regret.

shansta7000 thanks for the input, however we have evidence that that is actuly one of the residences of the king of varrock. See my investigation of varrock on page 59  for details

Investigating the Wise Old Man
We are in the year 169 of the 5th age. If I understand this correctly that would mean Varrock has existed for what, about 175 years. The city is still young and alredy we are uncovering possible plots of not so good things. And after examining my sig, I have descovered that I shall remind you all about my being the king of something by quoting myself. Ah well, I couldnt read what was in my sig anymore any way. It was something like: Just like egyptian short hand, all the vowels in this sentance have been removed. That is true about how the short hand worked. (I had that in my sig since the day I signed up)

Question about computer fans.
I was wonder what might be the normal speeds of a computer fan, because my computer is telling me that they are running at 3000 and 4000 rpm. however I will say the temps are: 46, 32, 23 (celcious). I am using speedfan 4.32 and I was wondering is this normal? Is speed fan bsing me? or do I have a problem?

Worst pain you've ever experienced..
They say snaping the achillies tendon is about the most pain you can experiance without blacking out (going uncouncious) When I had 2 brackets added to my braces, my started swelling. By the time I had them removed (iI think 4 days later) the brakets were partily inside my gum (about the back third) Before I disscovered my high arch problem I had a particularly painful mucel spasem in the back of both legs and the botom of both feet, it felt like red hot irond had been placed inside both legs. I wasent able to walk for minutes, it was 30 or 40 before I could do more than a weak limp (try limpign with both legs, really tricky). The absolute worst thing I have gone through is the removal of a central pick line (Means really big IV, entered in my right elbow, and went almost to my heart). The thing was a good 50 centimetres long. I had been in over 3 weeks (I was recently in the hospital for 5 weeks). About halfway out my vein tightend. It is the worst feeling, beyond imagination, having you vein do something like an accordian where it bunches up and stretches. I wasent bending my arm more than 10 degres for a day, and aftere removal I just went backed to bed and rocked back and forth for a few minutes, it was just horrible, undescribably horrible.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
And I agree that certain decorations are going to be repeted, and that there meaning (if any) should be judged in context. An example, the portrait of the king appreas in both Falador and Varrock, so one would just assume there pictures of the kings of the respective citys even though they a graphicly identical. I belive that the meaning of wall decorations is best judged by there 'examine'. However, in the case of the magical charm with swirl symbol, we would note that it only ever shows in close proximaty to witches. An interesting idea I had about that saradomin/misthalin banner, is that, what if it only shows in places that have an alligence with varrock, or at least misthalin. It sort of makes sense, I mean the banner appears not once in all of faladore. This would imply that the black knights are in someway allied with varrock, (or at least the knights came from misthalin?). I susspect some shady doings that bear no relavence on this investigation :-k I am the self proclamed king of: "Discovering usless things of high interest"

Have YOU Had Teeth Pulled?
I had both my baby canines on the botomed pulled because the roots became fused to my jaw bone (and the adult teeth were about to start trying to push them out of the way).

Investigating the Wise Old Man
For this investigation, I have turned up slightly less substantial facts or therories, but I have compensated with alot of pictures (10). But first I will hnor the npc's that kept me going with there humor, the first one is a man in a small house: Me: Hello. Man: What are you doing in my house? Me: I was just exploring. Man: Your exploring my house? Me: You don't mind, do you? Man: But... why are you exploring in my house? Me: Oh, I don't know. I wandered in, saw you and thought it'd be fun to speek with you. Man: ... you are veary strange... Me: Perhaps I shoujld go now. Man: Yes, please go away now. Ok, i'll do the other conversatin now, the woman is the 'owner' of the house I belive may belong or belonged to the king. Me: Hello. Woman: Oh? What are you doing here? Me: Just wandering around. You don't mind do you? Woman: Wandering around? Veary well, I suppose the lower classes must entertain themselves somehow. But keep your hands off the furniture. Me: I wasen't going to touch your rotten furniture! Womna: Rotton, I'll have you know all the furniture in my mansion was desined by the finest artisians and crafters! Me: Bah! It's a pitty they didn't design your personality too! Woman: Why, you insolent PEASANT! (woman attacks me, I kill here) Ok. I started in the castle this time, and like varrock it's way more interesting than the city. Now these first 2 pictures I have brought up before, but here we are again for the sake of completion. [hide=Click for first 2 pictures] [/hide] The purpose of those 2 pictures is to highlight that the white knights are saradominest, or atleast they were when they built the castle. These is to keep you guys from coming up with crackpot theories about them being zamakorians or something. Now, for the first bllod marks I saw (*but not the last :ohnoes: ) [hide=Click to see picture] [/hide] Now, you guys have beaten it into my head that the blood marks are of no relation to the standing stones. Ok I belive you, but as they are a strange mark I still feel it is important to note them. Now the toruture chamber and a gnome ambasadore [hide=click to see picture] [/hide] So those are just showing you. Again lots of blood marks, suits the setting perfectly. Now I got thinking, even if the king isent here, he should have a room. Guess what, there isent one. The next picture is Sir Vivyens(sp?) room. [hide=click to see picture] [/hide] The examine is something like "nicest bed iv'e seen in a while". Its the nicest bed in the castle. Now sir vivyen says something really interesting. "The white knights are healping the king because he is getting old and tired" or veary close to that. Now, this is possibly the MOST IMPORTANT PART of the investigation of Faladore. The way he says it means something. That is what you say when you are taking over, and then tell people the king is old and needs healp. I belive it is now intirly possible that the white knights have sized power, and wish to keep the royale family out of falador. Now there is one other place that people sleep in the castle, but I think you'll agree it could not posssibly be the kings room. [hide=Click for picture] [/hide] Ok, I have 2 more pictures to show you of the city before we move on to the mansion. [hide=Click to see picture] [/hide] These are the same symbol windows that are in the castle, worth a small mention. Now the mansion. Something that caught my intest here is the table, that same one linked with the varrock king. But I belive that the table only means something in the presence of something esle (in the case of the ones found at the king of varrocks residence the bed). So here are the pictures of the mansion. [hide=Click for mansion pics] [hide=ground floor] [/hide] [hide=second floor bathroom] [/hide] [hide=top floor - bedroom] [/hide] [/hide] I can't say I have any proof that this is the kigs place, btu I still belive it could have belonged to him at one time, and either the woman on the ground floor bought it (maby the white knights sold it) or she is his wife in desguise or something. Still it is clear that he is not living there now, if he ever was. The oly hard evidence I have linking the house to the castle is the suits of armour in the bedroom (thats what my charecter is refering to in the picture) Now, something that is possibly interesting. The saridomin/misthalin banner is nowhere to be found in the city...there is also no alter of anykind, not a veary religous place in practise, only in symbol. And I think thats it, Ihope this is not crap compared to my varrock investigation which was apparently way better than I gave myself credit for (thank you all for all the good jobs I have recived, it's always nice to know you guys appriciate my work :D ) I might do a short lumbrige one somtime, at this rate I'll do the whole F2P world in about a month :ohnoes:

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Ok since im done so early i'll do falador next, but not right now. I forgot to mention, the ruins in the southern varrock wall suggest the city was once larger.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
"Fiddelers fart" could be considered something of a local expresion, im not sure if its used else where in the world. Now, i'm done my varrock investigation and as interesting as I think some of this is, it's not teribly relevent or ground breaking (it wont change our theories) but its a good read none the less. And i'll be trying my hand at the hide code. To start with, I think I found what could be the kings house out side the castle, and like his room in the castle (which I wilol get to) it is closly linked to the wizzard tower in weird ways. [hide=Click to see picture] [/hide] I have highlited certain elements that are intesting. The windows are identicle (ie the curtains) to those found in the castle on the second floor surrounding the cortyard (in other places to im sure, but i forgot to rember). The swod/sheilds on the wall. That is the symbol for misthalin BUT in the colours of the symbol of varrock. (I shall call it the varrock symbol of misthalin). The chairs are also identicle to some of those found in the castle. And notice how gold and royale looking everything is? I took these pictures and gussed the rooms purpose before investigating the castle if your interested. Now Upstairs [hide=Click to see picture] [/hide] This is the part of the house I origanlyu found interesting. The bed, identicle to teh one in the basment of the wizzards tower has the same examine"fit for a king". Notice the portaits of the king on the wall (examine confirms picture of king, presumably of varrock). And now the table, also identicle to the one in the basement of the wizards tower. Hmmm... Also there is a door into the wall, in theory there would be another exit from the wall into the castle grounds, and me theroy on the intended resident of this house would assume there is a way into the house from the wall(though jagex was not nice enough to give us another door and stairs for a second exit point ) Now for the kings room in the castle [hide=Click here for picture] [/hide] I would quickly draw your attention to the bed, and the table. These can aparentyly be found in close proximaty at any residence of the king (so we know of 3 places he stays). I would guess with this new evidence that we were right way back when we though the king occasionaly stayed at the wizards tower, it just took a long time to prove. Now we all know the blood stains in draynor manor. Check this out. [hide=Click here for picture] [/hide] either we were still right and there just blood stains (in this case someone attacked by that bear) or possibly the symbol of death. (im not sure what we currently belive the wave symbol means). Thats it, hope you like it because I did cheack the whole city, although it was a waste, the rest of the city is quite boring.

Which sig is better?
When you say render are you talking about the ghost image with the cyan visor? That background image is doing all the blending atm. I am using photoshop 7.0 and I find the text unreadable if Idont keep it ontop of everything. And I do agree with you on the gradient, it dosent look right. version 4 here I come. Well this might be an improvment, I havent decided.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Well the exact same line has been said a few times already, except that they weren't as polite, homever stating this doesn't help the thread to evolve, and it would be appriciated that people stopped posting this line. It's a game and it's meant to be fun, how you have fun is a personal thing and people shouldn't be judged by the way they pass their time, as long as it's legal. On-topic: In the void knight island there are some banners, the symbol is a fallen "S" examine goes: The official symbol of the void knights. Or something like that. Just posted to make sure. And I belive I have posted this before (or something to the extent). I could give a fiddelers fart weather we ever solve this or not. The fun is in the investigating, once we have the answer theres no fun, so hopefully Jagex will only give us enough to make this interesting, never enough to definitivly prove anything. I have also started my investigation of varrock. In 40 minutes I might have covered 1/20th of the city. I am veary therough(sp?)
