So what exactly are we discussing in this thread?
  2. What if the person who shows them the sign is mute? Huh? I bet you didn't think about that! *puts on sunglasses and makes a cool exit* How would they show them the sign then, point to it?
  3. It wouldn't even involve hacking, probably just gaining administrative access and killing a process. If that wouldn't do it, then the program(s) used is well and truly spyware. It would require hacking, schools wont just give you administrative access.

well i'm back. Con was fun, met a group at registration that I hung around with some. I realize I fit in a lot better than I thought. Instead of me being the weird person in my group i'm the normal one. I have no big plans the rest of the weekend, though might try some of the names I heard bounced around there. Oh and I saw the best cosplay costume ever, Solid Snake in a box.
  5. That's because humans still like to believe the universe revolves around us. We have to have a purpose and have our hands in everything.
  6. It is true. Schools practice the UNCONSTITUTIONAL "right" for them to temporarily abolish your Constitutional rights. Last year, a student's cellphone went off in class, and a search was called. The assistant-principal searched everyone's purses and wallets and put people through a metal detector. She came up to me, and I cited my Constitutional right to deny unlawful searches. She left me alone. From what I remember regarding searches, it is because of safety of the whole school that they can search your locker, not because schools are anything goes zones. but they still don't need that 'probable cause' Well, locker searches are one thing, kind of like random drug testing. This, however, is insane. It's, dare I say, madness. Madness? unfortunately its well within the schools rights.

Are you saying being online isnt normal? Nothing much happened to me today. My head was killing me so when I got home (around 3:00) I passed out and slept it off, I slept though my alarms and woke up at 8:00. Tomorrow I plan on going to Naka-kon, it will be my first anime con I go to so i'm excited. It rained today, and then snowed, and then rained again, right now it only looks kind of misty, so hopefully the roads won't be too bad tomorrow.
  10. Oh they keep track of everything you do. I know, on my 3A block i'm a technology assistant, so i'm up in the tech office, they can tell you the exact time and date you did something. down to the minute. They just don't usually look you up without reason.
  11. Maybe I'm strange then. I'd blame the cashier. Maybe you are or I am. I remember My mom and I went to the subway in wal-mart while we were out shopping. The people behind the counter were rude, messed up our orders, didn't use a different knife to cut our sandwiches, and walked away before we were done ordering because we had already paid. We still won't eat at that subway.
  12. But then wouldn't that be the followers deliberately ignoring the rules they should be following? That's on them, not the faith that told them not to. They still represent it though. Say you go to a coffee shop and the cashier is in a bad mood, slow, and messes up on your order. It's not the fault of everyone that works there, but you still blame the entire shop.
  13. Pretty sure you can't sign a contract that removes your rights. Yeah you don't have to sign it, you lose basically all rights when dealing with school property.
  14. When we got our student laptops at school we did a survey about them for sociology, and the question if they were using the webcams to spy on us was on it. About 15% said yes. I really doubt many districts do that.
  15. In the ideal Christian world, it wouldn't be a problem because all the homosexuals would be killed. About the mother part, I dislike that. Unless the father was someone who only had sex so the woman could have a child, then he should still be the father. The "extra-mother" should just be the stepmother. That's quite an ignorant comment and I hope you burn your tongue so badly you can never say something so stupid and horrible. Homosexuals are as equal persons to heterosexual persons. Neither is "worth" more. They are both given God's grace to an equal extent. They are both humans. In an ideal Christian world, there would still be gays. Scriptural supported by how God loves everyone and the commandment thou shalt not kill is part of the ten commandments (found in exodus and deuteronomy) and Jesus says this applies to everyone by extension since everyone is your neighbor. I forget what book of this catholic youth bible I had to use for scripture studies honors last year, they have sidestories of contemporary time that parallel the stories in the scripture. In one of them, it's about AIDS and its implied the guy is gay and he is diagnosed from AIDS and he's ashamed to tell his Church but when they find out they're supportive and tell him they'll be there for him til the end. THAT is the ideal Christian deed. So they still haven't let go that AIDS is a plague set on homosexuals by god?

If i'm walking through the house, and I walk by a room i'm not using with the lights off I get nervous if the door is open. No clue why really.

OMFG?! I thought that was only me!! A childhood filled with episodes of Ghost Busters and Indian horror movies have gotten to me... *breaks down in fear* Anyway, a few notable things that make me [cabbage] my pants are: black people. Lol, but no. It's actually Jews. ... Lol, once again, just teh jokes. I get freaked out when I'm about to go to sleep. I always have to have my closet closed and my windows locked/covered by blinds. I also have a habit of covering my face with my sheets or pillows when I go to sleep. Just the thought of having my face naked... Don't know, lol. Never got over that monster in the closet did you? Yeah i'm the same way, closet must be closed when I go to sleep.
  21. What are they teaching you in school? Forget the whole homophobic argument you apparently have never been though 1st grade English. Main Entry: Hoe·mo·phone Pronunciation: \ˈhä-mə-ˌfōn, ˈhō-\ Function: noun Etymology: International Scientific Vocabulary Date: 1843 1 : one of two or more words pronounced alike but different in meaning or derivation or spelling (as the words to, too, and two) 2 : a character or group of characters pronounced the same as another character or group http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/homophone
  22. But the same can be said for the pros. Or is it just human nature? Similar things can be said for any cause; look at animal rights for example. You have supporters, you have more zealous supporters, and you have the supporters who will literally stop at nothing to see the cause through. Does the problem exist in the cause? No, it exists in the people in it. Do the few that take it too far reflect on the entire cause? No, but people are going to say that anyway, as the Muhammad cartoon (thread, article, etc.) shows. But then, I'm a strong believer in the idea that if religion (or race, or class, hell, any difference) never existed we'd all be equally divided over something else. This would have fit much better in the religious extremism thread, I think... Just like that South Park episode with like the Atheist Alliance, the United Atheist League and the other one (I forget the name) all were fighting because they thought their name answered the "great question" better lol. No the great question was what name all atheists should unify under.

Bombarded? Which areas are you hearing about, we're lucky to get an inch.
  25. Note: I'm not trolling, or being an [wagon] this is a serious post: If I am a Christian... and I believe Gods ok with Homos since, well he makes them, why do you think it is a sin? I mean obviously people get different things from the Bible (thus the need for different denominations) but I'm saying what are your personal views based on what you've garnered from reading it? 1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God." These are all sinners, yet they are forgiven by God. So while I feel it is wrong, I believe God will be the judge of that, not our government, as I previously stated. And to the argument that God is ok with it because he makes them, that's pretty murky water. God makes serial killers, thieves, and all other perverts too. As a final note, I really hope to not sound preachy. I'm not trying to force my ideas on anyone, just explain my beliefs. He was the same guy that said you can't wear shirts made of more than one material wasnt he? While we're bringing up how people are 'made' lets bring up how they are not made. They're not made with wings so flying should be unnatural. They're not made with a sword or a gun in their hand. They're not made with the information about how to pilot a jet and bomb a city. They're not made able to breather underwater or in space. They're not made to see after dark very well. Damn there's a lot of unnatural sinning going on isnt there? Its all or nothing, if you call one thing out you gotta go all the way. So if homosexuality is unnatural then so is our entire society right down to the light bulb.
