Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
Legs and feet, man's natural hammer. I once superglued a quarter to the floor of my 8th grade hallway. It was there for a few days before a teacher got it off. Lulz were had. I also stuck a nickel to someone's locker, but that came off quicker.

Abortion
Or perhaps they pursued legal action not because they had a disgust for human life, but to get the money to be able to actually care for such a child with severe disabilities. We can't even begin to guess their reasoning. Legal battles are dirty. If you had a child like that and you knew you didn't have the finances to give your child a better quality of life, wouldn't you twist the system to put your child first? I guess what I'm getting at is that we don't have all the information and it's a bit irresponsible to use it as emotional ammo in a debate that's already plagued by strong (and sometimes irrational) feelings. It's a wrongful birth lawsuit. The whole premise is that had they known, they wouldn't have given birth. Yeah, so? It's not like it's personal. Their kid could have been the next Obama, the next Michael Jackson, the next John Wayne, it doesn't matter. There's no reason for the kid to be angry with them, as he was not a person when they would have had the abortion. In fact, he should be happy that they're willing to put in a lot of effort to make his life as comfortable/easy as possible.

Abortion
It does not matter what the abortions are for. It matters that a woman has the right to control her body and that there IS a possibility (note the use of potential, not guaranteed) of death or serious harm due to bringing a fetus full term. A pregnancy that appears normal can result in death/harm to the mother. I'm not saying it's likely (in a first world country probably not, but in a third world country e.g. Kenya, Chad, Congo, etc. it is much more likely) but because it can happen and the mother has said right, abortion is not immoral. And all births will produce massive detriments. A child is a major financial drain. It also creates a major logistical headache. It is also almost always a cause of major stress, loss of sleep and anxiety. (This is all assuming the child will be kept, if it is put up for adoption then all the benefits go away immediately and there are still possible detriments, like the child finding and wanting to be with the parents when the parents do not want to be with the child, not to mention the high chance of depression/regret/sadness for the parents).

Abortion
It doesn't matter if she benefits from having a child, as she is the one who chooses whether or not to abort. If she does, she accepts the loss of the benefits in exchange for the loss of the massive detriments. If she doesn't, the other way around. Doesn't matter what we think.

I know, but Ring was talking solely about a fetus so I assumed Duff made a mistake in his post.

Abortion
par·a·site Noun/ˈparəˌsīt/ 1. An organism that lives in or on another organism (its host) and benefits by deriving nutrients at the host's expense. A fetus is an organism that lives in another organism (the mother) and benefits by deriving nutrients at the mother's expense. Parasitism has nothing to do with enjoyment.

Problems with the English language
If you had two languages exactly the same except that one used gender articles and one did not, the one that does not use them is a better language. It is easier, simpler, and quicker in that respect, and is therefore better.

Abortion
The problem is that any unborn child presents a potential threat to the physical wellbeing of the mother. The mother has the right to control her own body and what happens with it. If she chooses to bring the baby to term, she voluntarily gives up her right for the fetus. If she chooses not to bring it to full term, she is exercising the right to control her own body and prevent her potential death or serious harming. Thus, abortion is neither immoral nor illegal.

Problems with the English language
wake up (rise from sleep) up for election (eligible and vying for something) speak up (when used in context of someone is not speaking and you want them to) to be up to someone (someone's responsibility) write up (make a report of) call up (call) clean up (clean and organize) lock up (lock down) mixed up (confused) look up (find a definition) wrap up (finish) work up (obtain by creation) stop up (cut off flow) dry up (disappear) time up (no more time) shut up (stop talking) are up to (willing to) The point is, there are a ridiculous number of phrases using the word up and it is very easy to become confused by them if you are not a native speaker. And that kind of thing is why this thread was created, so I posted it here. I accepted no fallacious anything.

Problems with the English language
There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that is 'UP.' It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP ? At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends. And we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver; we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car. At other times the little word has real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing, but to be dressed UP is special. A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP. We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP! To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4th of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions. If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP. When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, it wets the earth and often messes things UP. When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP. One could go on and on, but I'll wrap it UP, for now my time is UP, so........it is time to shut UP! Now it's UP to you what you do with this email.
