  1. The thing that I had to remember was we were just hearing one side of the story, and though it doesn't really seem like the other side is going to have anything on it, you never know. Even then, it was obvious when [spoiler=DON'T LOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE] she killed his kid, that it was completely [bleep]ing obvious that she did everything and should of been in jail forever. Otherwise yeah, How's it not going to be biased?
  2. Moneyball 3.5/5 It was nothing too amazing, an underdog story where they kind of succeed. Great. so many Oscars for this? LOL NO. The Secret World of Arrietty 3/5 One of the better Ghibli films I've seen in a while. It was nice to see all the little things interact with them and actually become trouble for them. Otherwise, I really think it was pretty, but in all honesty anything can be pretty if you just draw it.. that's the lame part of animation for me. Dear Zachary 4/5 Holy balls, what an angering and depressing film. I went in thinking, oh this doesn't seem too bad, I WAS DEAD WRONG. if this story doesn't capture you in some way I think you're not living life correctly. It was really just hauntingly beautiful.
  3. What's Up, Tiger Lily? 2.5/5 Enter the Void 4.5/5 Pretty strange night to go from Visual psychedelia to a dubbed comedy.
  4. Maybe that's why I liked it more, I know there's a lot of times where they don't subtitle things as I recall and I just understood everything anyways. That was nice.
  5. The Man Who Would be King 4/5 Suggested from a film called Cinemania, one of the peoples favorite films from seeing over 1000+, so I had to see it, and it was pretty well done. I liked both Sean Connery and Michael Caine both together seemed like a such a well fit, love how the story went too, completely new story to me and it kept me hooked from the very beginning. Really great shots of at least a thousand people walking down a river bank was just beautiful. Surprised this film isn't more well received.

Some strange bands mixed in there, but whatever you like, I won't judge (much) Mentioning The Presidents of the united states of America, I saw them live and got a signed CD from them :) Quite cool. I don't think anybody else has really mentioned that band before, which is sad because they are surprisingly really good.
  7. Instructions for a Light and Sound Machine 3.5/5 It didn't tell me any instructions! The Night of the Hunter 4/5 Really amazing cinematography, beautiful shots and just overall really well done
  8. Listened to most/all of those albums, and them not being totally pop shite, I enjoy the list and pretty much agree, would enjoy more Jazz/rap/Classical. Just to liven up the genres more.
  9. Melancholia 2.5/5 Not a impressive film to start off with Lars von Trier, Only really quality part of this film were the cosmos scenes, from the beginning of the movie and the end, were the only really impressive parts of the film. The whole middle however, leaves me with confusion and disappointment, a really lame melodrama, that really didn't make a whole lot of sense, and made me feel like Dunst was reprising her role from Virgin Suicides. Overall, I will probably watch another one of his films and maybe it'll be a bit better.
  10. The Great Escape 4/5 Really well paced movie, being 3 hours long always turns me away, but this one really kept me in since the beginning (unlike Deer Hunter), Characters were really well done and I enjoyed everybody, especially Steve McQueen's character, motorcycles screens were neat too, but not as good as other people made them out to be. Nobody saw anything yesterday? Damn.. don't want to post again.. To Kill a Mockingbird 3.5/5 Pretty alright, Didn't mind the b/w and as I recall it was pretty similar to the source material even though I don't much care (Kubrick) Otherwise, it just lacked in really capurting me into the setting and story they had going on, the kid actors weren't too good either, they could of been better. anyway, I couldn't help but quote a YouTube poop that someone did of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nOVnk6r_1k
  11. None of those things are true. Here's why http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG9-BF3t4WI ANYWAYS The blob 3/5 Really campy feel, Steve couldn't possibly be younger looking at all, characters were pretty bland, everyone but Steve was developed enough to care. Otherwise, the blob looked alright, Ending was just as bad as the Shining in terms of abrupt and how they did it. Really isn't worth a re-watch, theater scene was pretty cool though.
  12. Bellflower 2/5 What an incredible strange film. Nothing about Flamethrowers or driving, or any of those things. Instead it becomes a poorly acted display of how stupid people can be sometimes. HORRIBLE pacing, I felt like it dragging on forever, totally forced acting, piss poor cinematography, it did have a nice uses of lens and color chromes, boobs were in it? Otherwise, totally avoid, it's nothing like the posters or trailer make it seem to be.
  13. Garden State 3.5/5 Twas okay, character wasn't really appealing, also I kept thinking Zack was J.D. the whole time, I couldn't get that out of my head. Everything seemed so weird.. Plus I'm not really for suburban setting since I live in one. Overall okay, but not really worth the rewatch 1:30:00 into Kurosawa's Ran, REALLY BRIGHT AND POWERFUL COLORS. Not messing with Color for years can do something to you. Finished it: Ran 4-4.5/5 Powerful colors, extremely emotional, TONS OF BLOOD, very surprising for a Kurosawa film. Otherwise, not as good as Seven Samurai or Dersu, but it's still better than Throne of blood.
  14. Submarine 4/5 Really nice and extremely well directed coming of age film, very surprising to see a good one done in a while. Really liked the characters, soundtrack was nice, Just wanted another artist to do it. OVERALL, FANTASTIC CINEMATOGRAPHY, really liked the fading to red and blue, different and totally fit with the films color tones, everybody was well acted and did their parts well. Next up: 13 Assassins
  15. He died with a felafel in his hand. 5/5 Too lazy to write a review, but depressing, morbid and really true to how life is. Edit: Not going to post another reply Attack The block 2/5 What was this trash, rehashing Aliens on Earth with HORRIBLE CHARACTERS, I didn't care about ANYONE, Nobody was properly developed, the CGI wolf dog thing looked SOOO original (sarcasm) Overall, horrible everything, acting was alright.. Cinematography was pretty point and shoot, script seemed a little contrived otherwise, it's completely watchable if you like not thinking about anything for an hour and a half.
  16. 2011 was a pretty alright year top films: Drive 50/50 Tree Of Life. Still need to see The Artist and Tinker Spy (something something) What did you guys think?
  17. Gifts: Neutral Milk Hotel - In the aeroplane over the sea (vinyl) Breaking Bad seasons 1-2 Wristcutters: A love story Arcade Fire - Neon Bible. (too lazy with pictures)
  18. Little Miss Sunshine 4.5/5 (5th rewatch) Fantastic film, still makes me happy to watch it, still laughing and great characters and really dynamic, while the cinematography is so well done.
  19. Indiana Jones and the last Crusade 4/5 Nazis, fights, finding lost treasures. Great Indiana film. NOT as good as Raiders, ever.
  20. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawerance 4/5 Decent film. I'm not one for prisoner films. In the film however, they commit Seppuku and it seems so casual and it's crazy to think that another film like Harakiri (1963) could be so brutal while this one doesn't seem like it. Otherwise, I liked the fact that the film was the Japanese and English between all the characters, overall. Good pacing, not really the best, pretty generic story, and interesting characters. Time for Casino Royale, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, or something else entirely. Without a computer is not fun...
  21. Why would you put yourself through to that 11 hour trilogy..
  22. 30 minutes or less. 3/5 Funny, but lacking really dynamic characters, plot was good, ending was REALLY abrupt, I wanted to know more about the characters, but nope.avi. Recommened if you're wanting to watch something funny for an hour and a half, if you're looking for something more skip this film.
  23. Not a ruined 3rd act? Drive (2011) 4.5/5 Best film I've seen in ages. fantastic acting, Orgasmic cinematography really sets the film well. Tense as hell scenes, probably the most tense scene's I've seen in a while. Great soundtrack, plot was a little cliche, however that doesn't make it a terrible film, the rest of it holds up.
  24. 50/50 4/5 Great film, felt a little sad that the ending was like it was. not sad emotionally, but film wise it should of been different. Interesting and dynamic characters, and a overall plot that works well with the characters. Usual Suspects (rerate) 1.5/5 Horrible characters, so bland, plot was boring as chicken, the characters were so underdeveloped and once you know the spoiler the whole film is ruined and the entire thing is shit anyways. cinematography was just point and shoot and the acting was alright, a few of the main characters could of been a bit better acted, and I hated Del Toro, couldn't understand him and he looked so stupid. So bland, almost fell asleep for the second time. Good thing I hated this the first time 3 years ago, it still doesn't hold up.
  25. Win Win 3.5/5 Paul was really fantastic in this, as usual. All the other actors were alright, but I mean, Paul stole the show. Plot was a little bland, but I think the realism of the whole thing really stood out to me. OH GOD, SO MUCH YELLOW IN THIS MOVIE. I have no clue what symbolism that made.. but Yellow, everywhere. Good pacing, interesting character (a bit) and some nice music to top it all off.
