Level 20 dark wizards. I got rune helm and scimmy from a level 59 dying there and a shade robe from a low level guy. At barb village, I got 135 silver bars and black full helm (g) from a guy dying.

You're not doing anything wrong. You said you are dropping stuff and you did. Unless you said it's a "whatever" drop party, it doesn't matter. Jagex doesn't care about drop parties.

It's good but crafting your own runes slows up your mage training a lot. If you really want to train mage fast just buy runes.
