I would plant mine in Etceteria, if I could plant one... It's basically next to the berry patch. So you could go to the Fruit tree patch in the Grand Stronghold/Gnome Village and take the Spirit Tree from there. @Meol I just use the Spirit Tree above Varrock, teleporting to Varrock and using the shortcut below the castle wall.

Magic shorts sell for about 5k ea. Your best chance of selling them would be edgeville world 18 I suppose, or keeping them until you see someone who's buying them. Alching value is a lot less, around 1k ea.
