Dungeoneering's Impact on the Community at Large
20 minutes over lunch doesn't achieve anything major, when we're talking about a game where spending hundreds and hundreds of hours just to max out one skill, let alone all the others and let alone the six skills needed to max out melee combat stats, is perfectly normal. This is not a casual game. The idea of doing a dungeon in RuneScape for a bit of quick fun, in the same way you would go on YouTube or Facebook or even XBL for a Halo match or two, and still expect to enjoy everything the game has to offer is folly.

Dungeoneering's Impact on the Community at Large
I think Bunyip and co. set up a teaching thing a couple of months back via the clans board. I'm sure he visits this board so perhaps he could confirm how that's going or whether it even existed at all. Some brutal questions haven't been addressed, yet. Unfortunately, combat level matters in dungeoneering. As does prior experience. Would accepting level 3s w/DG1 be a good idea? Isn't it inevitable that some form of level snobbery has to exist? RuneScape isn't a game that caters to what this particular community would call a 'casual gamer'. DG is no exception to that, in fact I'd argue the opposite.

2011/12 Football Season
Eugh... Benitez needs to learn that silence is golden. You'd have though his 'Facts' would have taught him that, and his promises of a top four finish. He lead the club into this dark period, they've just placed arguably the club's most iconic figure at the helm to dig them out of the hole they're in. Now is not the time to be saying you want to go back there, and that Torres was undervalued.

Real life help & advice
Voluntary work is a fantastic way of building up work experience, whilst developing skills, confidence and proving to an employer that you have a sense of giving back to others. It's no real substitute for real work, but it's 'something extra' that helps stand out and it gives something to talk about at interviews.

Fish Campaign
The supermarkets aren't the ones shoving plates of cod into breadcrumb-coated fingers either, except for their own brands of course. You wanna tell Birdseye they can't use cheap fish in their products? Be my guest, you know how legally troubling such a proposal would be?

Non-Valentines...
Actually, I laugh at all the guys who would rather be watching football or playing XBL, but find themselves stuck in the binding procession that is Valentine's Day. Well, I would... But it's really not that big a deal here.

Valentines Gifts for your love
Buy her a heart-shaped box of pink wrapper-coated Belgian chocolates, take her to the highest point in town, make a cheesy speech about how you couldn't possibly hold any meaning in life without her, get on your knees and propose with a big ruby ring.. lolno

Reading the second sentence in 11) and then going over 1-10, 16 and 19 made me chuckle a bit.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I think he was referring to the idea that, past a certain age (when it loses its 'behind the shop counter' status) sex for the sake of having sex becomes less important than being part of a stable and loving relationship with another person. Not really finding much to disagree with there. Most people want sex, it's just more meaningful when it's with someone you care deeply for. I guess the whole point of dating when you're 13-17 is so you know what works later on. Even so, trying to get with someone just to lose virginity is pretty shallow. Certainly I wouldn't think any higher of you for achieving it. Probably the reverse, actually.

Family Problems
I don't deal with cryptics, sorry. What is it your Dad's actually done that's made you so upset, and what makes you think leaving the house altogether is the best of way of dealing with this problem?

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Could do both? Self-confidence mixed with the ability to laugh at one's self. Two golden qualities to look for in any walk of life. You need to be mindful about acting in a way that doesn't suit you, though. I mean, saying you should act all cocky is one thing, but if you're just not that kind of person, it'll only come off looking silly and pretentious. Much like Jagex and their setting of democratic polls. Anyone can talk, can you back it up with substance?

The idea of one person being worth £35m when 20% of his own generation are unemployed? You can talk about Torres but... football itself shows a real lack of class at times.

Not to enter the 'girls like X and Y' territory, but people in general don't usually like hanging around nervous wrecks, when there's someone else totally at ease with themselves.

If Torres goes, where does that leave Gerrard? He surely won't go down in history as the greatest Premier League player never to win it.

Soccer is the Greatest Sport
I think the main difference between football and American football/rugby (both codes) is that in the latter, you more or less *have* to attack at every play. You have to get the first down, or make as much progress with the six tackles as possible for territory, or to set up a try. In football it's perfectly fine for Stoke City to stick 10 men behind the ball and put no one beyond the half way line to grab a 0-0 draw against United or Chelsea. If you tried doing that in other sports, your defence would physically be smashed off the field. Don't really agree about beautiful moments only happening in football either. Pakistan winning the T20 World Cup against a backdrop of political anarchy. New Orleans winning Superbowl XLIV four years after Katrina. Sid Crosby scoring in OT for Winter gold. That's just in the past couple of years...

Join a new club or activity. Meet new people. Best way to show other people you're not living in the past is to get on with life and develop as a person. You'll regain confidence, self-esteem and it'll take your mind off things. Given she put you there, is it really for the best that she's trying to drag you out of the myre?

Gun Control
I'm on a mobile until my Internet gets sorted out so I can't do much except plain text. I can't even edit or put smileys in :/ Violent crime has fallen in the UK over the past 35 years too, and in that time we've banned the bloody things. I'd be interested to see other country's data but I'm reasonably confident they'll also show decreased murder rates in just about every developed, politically stable country on Earth. Another case of correlation not necessarily meaning causation.

Gun Control
It's unclear whether there's any causal link between guns and crime. This not only means guns don't cause crime, they don't prevent it either. It really is a stupid point for someone who is anti-gun control to bring up.

Soccer is the Greatest Sport
But the reason football is so popular around the world is because it's easily portable. All you need is a ball and some jumpers for goalposts. On a recreational level, football is quite popular in most countries, but on a professional level, only Europe and some parts of south American compete internationally.

Soccer is the Greatest Sport
Even as someone who's supported Man United my whole life (third gen supporter), I hate watching so-called neutral games. Especially the World Cup. I much prefer rugby league and the NFL for some neutral entertainment. Meh... It's like people who argue over whether LoZ:OoT is better than FF7, or CoD's better than Halo or any other FPS. Can't people just accept it's all down to preference? Does there even need to be a greatest sport/game/band/music genre/anything?

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
How long ago did you tell her to make her mind up? Does it look like she's going to make her mind up any time soon, or does she need a gentle push? Honestly, the ball's in her court. You can't put yourself into a situation where everytime you fall short of perfection she bats you off the other guy. That's just not fair. I guess another question if she decides on you is where the other guy fits in to this. Gotta admit I wouldn't be happy knowing someone else my girlfriend has liked (and may still like) before is still on the scene. Don't think many would. It's nothing to do with territory, it's just a conflict of interest on her part.

2011/12 Football Season
Phil Brown was a bizarre apointment, not least because I also lived in Hull during their last season in the Premier League so it's weird how he seems to follow me. :P But seriously, PNE could have Mourinho and would still be going down. No funds, squad not good enough, Football Museum all but gone, attendances through the floor, incompetent new chairman in Maurice Lindsay (you only have to look at his track record at Wigan Warriors towards the end of his time there - we were glad to see the back of him and haven't looked back since). Frankly, I don't support PNE and neither do most Prestonian sports fans. If you understand the background of how sports, football and rugby league in particular, were established in the north west, it's easy to see why. The majority of people here don't follow sport, and if they support a football team, it's Liverpool and United in that order. PNE suffers from being so close to two of the most successful organisations in club football, but it doesn't seem to have the local appeal Bolton and Blackburn enjoy. tl;dr: Off-field problems will condemn Preston to League 1 whether they have Phil Brown or Humpty Dumpty at the helm.

religion
I'm sorry, maybe I didn't make myself clear. Forget trying to doubt whether a god has endowed basic morals into us, first prove that biology has. Just because characteristics are passed from generation to generation does not mean that they are necessarily the result of genetics. There are well-established methods of determining whether a certain trait is inheritable or not, and to the best of my knowledge plus a quick Google Scholar search, I don't know of any concordance study that links the likelihood of someone being a murderer to their DNA. It couldn't possibly be that being raised by abusive parents makes a child abusive. No, this would be far too much common sense. Clearly a child turning out to be abusive is the result of out-of-our-control genetics.
