Tip.It Times Presents: Tax Collection ¢¢âš¬¢â¬ A New RuneScape...
OK... well firstly I would say I've checked your post history, and as far as I can see it all just seems to be flaming so don't bother apologising for something which you do deliberetely. Frankly I find it rude and insulting to my intelligence, which, ask anyone around me, is quite high. Indeed, in this entire topic, all you've done is quote others giving a counter-argument. You've sat on the fence incredibly well here. What's your view? To your first counter-argument... the mere fact that Jagex has made this rule declares it as illegal. When we all join up to play RuneScape, we sign a contract (and I'm sure you'll agree; the exchange of money itself does count as a contract) stating that we agree to the rules and regulations placed by Jagex. Therefore, anyone that breaks this rule is commiting a crime in itself, if not in the US, but certainly in the UK, because in my eyes that would count as a breach of contract. It's a black market, and thus in my opinion, isn't a real market that can be translated into real life money or taxed. You may as well tax illegal activites such as prostitution and drug trafficing. Under that sense, yes, my last point was wrong, and I did contradict myself. To your second argument. I don't really see what your argument is there. I think I can half-see what you're getting at (that Bill can just pay 10 people to do the work for him) but you were too vague. IF this is the case, then I would say I have no time for people like them. I support cooperation in the game, but I don't agree with using real life money to aid your own progress. As far as I'm concerned, they're cheats. Your third misses my point entirly. Read the first sentence, and you'll see the monopoly thing was an example, not a point. As for your fourth, I would say you're moronic. This is the way of the world, people don't agree with things (for example, the 2 million people that demonstrated against the war in Iraq in Hyde Park 2002 would also disagree with you). As far as I'm concerned, you can't eliminate terrorism, and especially not by spreading terror yourselves. That's retribution, not reform or vindication. Plus - I very much doubt that the war in Iraq OR Afghanistan was down to terrorism, but 9/11 (and I mean no disrespect by this at all) was a good reason to claim it was. If you wish to continue this, this isn't the medium to argue through. PM me and I'll gladly discuss this more. As for your last, I've already said it's wrong. But you have to make a decision... is real life trading of GP a legal market that can be taxed, or a black market that can't, because it can't be against the rules of RuneScape, and still be taxed, as I highlighted in my first paragraph.

Tip.It Times Presents: Tax Collection ¢¢âš¬¢â¬ A New RuneScape...
I have actually seen SecondLife on BBC Breakfast. It seemed as though everything in that game would be bought with real money, and not a currency that the game developers themselves came up with. Under that sense, it's easy to understand how that could be taxed, especially since you can sell assets for money (it's effectively tax-dodging when you think about it). RuneScape is a completely different game. In RuneScape, it is actually an offense to use real money to aid your own development in the game, or to make further financial profit. The only money that matters in RuneScape is GP, and the glorius thing about this game is that it makes no difference if you're Bill Gates, or a street urchin; we all have the same opportunities in this game. Because of this, it would seem that as the Editor said, it's near impossible to regulate this, when the 'money' on RuneScape may as well be figments of our imaginations. And if taxation will be introduced into RuneScape, surely other economic laws must be introduced. For example, what happens to the guy with the Rune Pickaxe at Varrock Mines bullying the newbies out of iron (effectively a monopoly). It appears that after reflecting on that, taxation in RuneScape and other economically-independant RPGs is a daft idea... especially if its going to the American Government. I for one am not paying a single penny to aid their occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq, which I believe as immoral anyway! If you're going to introduce Real Life into the internet, lots of problems (both economic and ethical) arise, only a few of which I have demonstrated here... Here's an idea for them and Jagex to consider though... how about tracking the online RS Gold shops, which provide an unfair advantage and ruin the spirit of this game so much, and forcing them to pay their taxes :-k

Tip.It Times Presents: An Important Meeting Takes Place
Personally, my money is on the person who bigged it up all week... Kiara Kat. think about it, they all call each other nooby, and who's the only person with any moderator/admin role with nooby stats (as far as I know anyway)... except I suspect Kiara almost certainly plays on a seperate account. #-o

Formal Garden Layout Guide
I would if I could, but I'm only level 64, and at that level I can only plant sunflowers. Plus I only have 22k in the bank at the mo, so I can't really even afford to plant anything else. Sorry... maybe you could use someone of a higher construction level, and with more money to make a picture like that. I've only just reached the capability to make yew longs, so I'm way too strapped for cash.

Formal Garden Layout Guide
Firstly, as I said feel free to use any information I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve given. In answer to your questions: (this screenshot may help to explain) 1) Yep, you only need FOUR bagged plants to fill up a whole room-full of garden. In the screenshot above, this required only TWO plants (2 sunflowers in this case), but I would another TWO plants if I was to fill the north-eastern and south-western corners of this garden. However, the two plants I have used (if I had a higher construction level) could have been different, I could have used a sunflower in the Big space, and marigolds in the small space for example (in the picture above, the plants numbered ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâ1̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ could be different to the plants numbered ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâ2̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢). So therefore, you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t necessarily need 2 plants of the same type. My maths about the 2 sunflowers was my own personal choice, as you can see from that screenshot. I realise I might not have explained that bit quite well. 2) When I said square, I mean the square surrounding a room, as shown on the above picture in BLUE. In this example, 10 limestone blocks making a Stone Wall would fill the whole of this blue square. Does that answer your questions or do you want me to try and explain again in more detail/clearer? If you want, I can make another screenshot that will make things easier to understand, if you tell me what detail you want in the picture. :

Formal Garden Layout Guide
I said it was short and I know it ain't good. I'm more into actually playing the game. It's more just a note to other players. I didn't even know guides were scored... shows how much I know. Hope it helps someone anyway...

Anti-scam guide by using inventory space
Fantatsic idea, not one that I'll ever use, since as I get all my own resources for 100% profit, but still a great idea to combat scammers

Formal Garden Layout Guide
Firstly, this guide is nothing big, it's tiny, but Tip.it please feel free to use any information in this article, so long as you give me credit for it OK, this guide has been made by me becasue I realised when I hit level 64 construction, and I needed to plant flowers, that the Layout and the manual guide on RuneScape as a bit ambiguous, and becasue of this, it becomes hard to budget towards how much money you'll be needing. That's why I've drawn up this simple diagram: As you can see from this diagram, certain parts are highlighted in a certain colour. The Golden Rule is this: "If a flower is planted in a space, then all the spaces with the same colour as the planted space will also have the same flower placed in them." Therefore, by my maths (And I'm pretty good it), If I wanted to fill one JaGex (square) full of (for example) Sunflowers and Daffodils I would need: 2 x Bagged Sunflower = 2(5,000) = 10,000 = 10k 2 x Bagged Daffodils = 2(10,000) = 20,000 = 20k 10k + 20k = 30k for a garden of Full Sunflowers and Daffodils. Hedging and Fencing Dead easy rule here: "The appropiate materials (as highlighted in the manual or the Construction Table on Tip.it) of a Hedge or a Fence will surround the whole perimeter of the square" In other words, the materials that the Table says is enough for one square of Formal Garden Conclusion Just remember the diagram above and these 2 rules: 1) "If a flower is planted in a space, then all the spaces with the same colour as the planted space will also have the same flower placed in them." 2) "The appropiate materials (as highlighted in the manual or the Construction Table on Tip.it) of a Hedge or a Fence will surround the whole perimeter of the square" I hope that helps all ambituous Constructors such as myself out there :)

Misc: Construction Tables
An ikle (sorry my word for 'little') error on the construction table for the Costume Room... it says for Gilded Wardrobe that 4 oak planks are needed, not mahogany. I've checked with the RuneScape Manual, it is in fact mahogany, and it does look mahogany-ish. :) [pokemama edit 11/10: it would be most helpful if you or someone else would build one and find out for sure ... Tip.It tries to only post information that's been verified personally in the game. The RS Manual does include mistakes from time to time, as everyone is human. They probably corrected this in the manual after the room was released, because at the time ours matched theirs ;). Thanks for letting us know, and hopefully some kind person can verify this personally!]

Hunting = Summoning in disguise?
But have you ever seen anyone in the real world cast magic using magic stones, and then make these magic stones? I see your logic though... maybe the quests are a prelude to the skill (or summoning with it)?
-
Hunting = Summoning in disguise?
I once saw a Player selected by Jagex to try out the new skill and demonstrate it. I saw a demo, although it did fail to summon anything... and handily that was his last potion... Anyways, he said summoning would be part of the Magic skill when questionned... :-k

Tip.It Times Presents: Is there a "For Sale"...
Coming from a Socialist working-class background, I'm almost naturally inclined to oppose any takeover by a large organisation. A golden example of this is Tescos. I believe when companies own too much of the means of production in a market, this is bad, for obvious reasons. And I agree. While buying up a company (which would buy Jagex) can provide financial benefits to it's costumers (us) in the form of new support and products, they don't neccessarily have our welfare in mind before their own bank balances. However, the only reason I would support a takeover like this is in that last sentence - "can provide financial benefits to it's costumers (us) in the form of new support". I hate to say it, but maybe a takeover, dispite what I've said, is the only way in which the shambolic Customer Support team and services at Jagex can be improved. Overall, I'd hate a new takeover. I don't like change, I'm stubborn. But maybe a silver lining does exist in this big grey cloud... Also, let us not forget RuneScape isn't the only project Jagex have control of, and we should take their over projects into consideration before making our minds set.
