  7. Never heard of any of them sadly. To bad they never got in the wilderness :P
  8. Actually the whole point of a barb on a hook is so you can "snag" the fish. When you feel a sharp tug on the line you yank on the rod and the barb snags in the fishes mouth. If you use a barbless hook, no matter if it "can penetrate deeper" the chance of the hook coming loose in the fishes mouth becomes much greater. Before you start telling me I have poor technique I suggest you understand that a hook with a barb works alot better. There is also alot less chance of the fish swallowing the hook (once again depends on size) I personally fish for big fish I leave the minnows alone. If you were a fish, would you rather swallow a hook and have it lodged somewhere in your stomach or a barbed hook in the mouth that can easily be removed.
  9. I've never caught anything good with a straight hook and Anesthesia, fish are not people.
  10. I think we are all forgetting a crucial part to this debate and that is we are talking about fish. They have no intelligence or memory, is it really that big a deal to throw back a fish knowing that it is more thankful to be alive than dead. If anything the fish will be greatful for being allowed back into the ocean. It's not like it's wounds won't heal over a short period. Also using a barbed hook is pretty essential if you actually want to catch a fish it also decreases the chance of the fish swallowing the hook which is obviosuly a good thing. Without a barb you are unable to snag a fish and it will just take your bait. It depends what fish you are after but if you're after something relatively big you need a barb.
  11. I'd like to hear some the clans you people were in?
  12. It's been a good year, I don't think it's possible to have more than a good year as its such a long time period, however nothing has happened to make me think it's been a bad year so thats good I suppose.
  13. Yup i'd have to say Risk and Monopoly are my favourites mainly because I always win (joke). They are both really long games and really good when you get into them. However thats the trouble they take to long, saying that I once beat my brother, sister and grandma! at monopoly in under 2 hours, they all were bankrupt by then end. Shame, we don't play that as much anymore... But yeh as others have said video games can never beat board games, completely different atmosphere when playing. Irony though, you can get both monopoly and risk for the PC :-w
  14. How can you blatantly say it is wrong? They make those fishing lines for a reason, because people use them. Sure, you can disagree with whether or not it is cruel/necessary, but just plain saying "wrong" is stupid. No. Using one is Stupid. Anyone who use one really deserves to have it shoved down their throat and through their lungs. I wonder how much they would enjoy it. Completely unnecessary cruelty towards the fish with zero positive advantages and several clear negative ones. Also if you read what I wrote I did not only say 'wrong', I justified it. Actually fish don't even feel pain nor do they have a memory, basically you could "torture" a fish for as much as you like then throw it in the water and watch it swim away. It won't care as it will have no memory of the incident nor will it feel any pain.
  15. I go fishing alot when I go on holiday because it's fun, I never kill the fish. I simply take the hook out and throw it back into the ocean, it swims off and is fine. I compete with my brother to see who can catch the most fish and we have alot of fun doing it, we don't torture or harm the fish (didn't matter if we did as fish can't feel pain). The only thing that runs through a fishes mind is to feed and of course to avoid danger. Who cares if we catch it? It's a fish it has no feelings of dispair or loss, the only reason it flaps about like that is because it can't breathe and almost always it is thrown back in the ocean. Besides catching a fish and eating it could be classed as morally wrong, afterall all you need do is go to a supermarket and buy yourself an already pre caught fish. Basically the bottom line is human beings have a right to protect creatures of this earth, and if they have a bit of fun who cares? The fish certainly don't, they get their bait and no doubt forget the entire incident after about 10 seconds so it's no big deal.
  16. Wow I forgot we were all here to earn points in deloria's book, he does own the forum afterall.
  17. Wow I used to hate morons like you, when I was at school all I heard was "i'm actually really intelligent I just don't want to do the work". It's people like you that are going to end up cleaning my garbage up, you're not going to get anywhere with that attitude. Want to know why? Because you're really not that intelligent you're lazy and just need an excuse. But I suppose it helps you if you think you have a chance at life.

25 minutes is like 2 miles, thats 4 miles a day. That is nothing, I sometimes cycle 12 miles a day and I get through it fine. So evidently there is a way.

Personally I think you should only be able to use your car outside of rush hour. I cycle, bus or walk most places as I don't have a car. I don't see why anybody else can't do the same. Also for all you people that say a car is quicker, nowadays and around where I live because of the traffic you can cycle much faster than a car in busy hours anyway. Politically I think that will never happen because nothing ever gets done in a democracy. Politicians are to worried about keeping the people "happy" and "satisfied" with their lives, they're to afraid to make the common man do something that he may not approve of. It's time to do something and make people do it! Not just stand idoly by while we destroy the planet.
  25. Hmm right on top of Robert Mugabe, not a bad thing.
