  1. Syzygy had an idea I feel is worth mentioning. He said he would be making a thread in the achievement section of the RSOF documenting his stats and xp gains. Title would be "F2P Stats - [player name]". If many people do this, It offers a way to stay competitive with friends and other F2P'ers.
  2. Isthatok, your archive looks to be incredible. Well done!
  3. Isthatok, I would like to thank you for maintaining the top 250 f2p list. Also thanks to everyone contributing here to document f2p'ers. Thanks to these efforts there will be at least proof that we existed.
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I shall implement your suggestions.
  5. Update: 11/18/2011 It has been four years since I updated this guide. Today I figured I would go ahead and add a range section since I am currently back in the business of slaughtering flesh crawlers. Any suggestions are welcome. As always, I hope that many people find this information useful.
  6. Don't worry, we still love you. :P
  7. I disagree with your point that old players no longer matter. They were the reason Runescape had the success it has. The old legends were inspiring in their day and their efforts should not be forgotten in my opinion. If I quit, I wouldn't want to take up space on the list. You remember the old legends in your memories. Many people have quit who aren't legends, who are also taking up space. You are absolutely correct that they will live on in memory (and likely other sources as well), however the physical imprint they leave on the hiscores has always served as a reminder of their time in Runescape as well. I like that the hiscores represent all the players throughout the history of the game. Ideally I wish that it was possible to simply remove all the bots from the hiscores which would solve the problem according to Mod Emilee's FAQ (QFC: 16-17-732-63382107). That being said, I am sure that if this solution was technically possible they would have taken that route. Sadly what we are left with is a solution that solves the problem, but at the expense of players.
  8. I voted No, Yes, No. I disagree with your point that old players no longer matter. They were the reason Runescape had the success it has. The old legends were inspiring in their day and their efforts should not be forgotten in my opinion.
  9. I read his post last night and essentially agree with what he said. He said what he felt needed to be said. I am sure that he knew what the consequences would be, yet it would seem that bringing attention to this issue was a higher priority.
  10. I can assure you I will never again work towards experience or rank based goals again.
  11. If so it is not dying of natural causes.
  12. I can assure you no non-members are.
  13. It was painful for me to read this announcement. There are so many negative aspects to this proposition... I feel at a loss for words. On one hand I can understand the reasoning... On the other I am overcome by by a feelings of alienation and betrayal.
  14. Will it be possible for us, the F2P community, to somehow create our own high scores system?
  15. While the player interaction via trading has diminished, I believe that interaction was negligible in comparison to other types of interaction. Personally I meet new people every day while training skills just by saying "hello". When you have a home world that you use consistently, you end up seeing these same people over and over again and naturally, befriend some of these individuals. When I used to buy and sell items, it was usually a one-time interaction and I never saw them again. There were exceptions such as when I used to smelt steel and trade bars for materials+coins, but even this was not something that really led to much interaction... it was just "hey I have x number of bars done", "ok meet at x". All that aside, it appears the GE is here to stay.
  16. Is there a list anywhere of all the worlds removed today?
  17. Thanks for the ideas guys; I appreciate it.
  18. What are a few options for the best ranged experience these days?
  19. Thanks for your work in getting the list back up.
  20. I purchased a shirt from the shop a couple of years ago.
  21. The solution sounds fair, although I believe the ban from the list should be a permanent one. In most instances I believe in second chances. However, given the effects that macroing has had on Runescape, knowingly contributing to this problem is inexcusable in my opinion. Additionally, such actions tarnish the integrity of the list. It's extremely disappointing that the use of macros is even an issue amongst the ranks of the top 250 f2p'ers...
  22. Oh well. Nothing gained, nothing lost. Expect nothing and never be disappointed. ;-)
  23. Woah nostalgia gave me goosebumps. Nostalgia'd hard at that and the old RS theme. It almost made me shed a tear. That is how I would like to remember Runescape years from now. The login screen and music takes me back to the greatest times I had in Runescape. Some pictures of things I miss: [hide] [/hide]
  24. I trained a majority of my ranged (level 90) at the lessers on Crandor, it was decent experience. With the release of the Karamja Volcano resource dungeon unlocked through dungeoneering, I would say they are now a more consistent and faster method of ranging than before. Ice giants may be a bit faster, but the sheer number of lesser demons in the new dungeon makes it my choice over the ice giants, which can at times be crowded. As for mage, if you are going to use chaos tier spells, lessers are a great choice as they have a weakness to mage and are plentiful in the Karamja Volcano resource dungeon.
  25. Nicely done Sonic.
