  1. Making it so that skillers cannot get pked takes away an element of what the wilderness is (was). For planned fights to the death, the duel arena is the place to go. For safe skilling there is the bulk of Runescape. In the wilderness, it is basically an anything goes environment. The incentives are the rewards: abundant resources, boss monsters only found in the wild, things of this nature. The risk involved is that other players can kill you and take your loot; easy come, easy go. The point is that there are not, and should not be any restrictions on who you can attack or be attacked by (except of course the wilderness depth/combat level ratio). I never went into the wilderness to pk very often, but I did end up defending myself many times while gathering resources. That is what it's all about. Being a well rounded player becomes important if you wish to acquire things in the wild. For example I really began training my combat level not to pk or fight monsters, but to defend myself when mining runite/adamant ores. The risks involved are what makes the wilderness so enjoyable and exciting. Not just for pkers, but for all who enter the area north of the ditch.
  2. I reached a milestone today. :shades: 1400 total, along with 96 magic.
  3. I remember selling cooked lobsters 100 at a time to pkers in Edgeville for a decent price. In this way I profited from cooking even though skill capes had been introduced. Perhaps opportunities such as this may return with free trade/wilderness.
  4. Thanks. I am glad to hear it. :^_^: That's right, they are rather slow to buy on the G.E. so it has been a slow process. Thank you. ----- Spent some time in the mines today alching while mining runite as it spawned. Pretty close to level 96 mage, just waiting on the plates to come in.
  5. It's been a year since I have updated this blog. I am still working on 99 magic. Recently I reached lv95 and am close to 96. Aside from that I recently got 75 Dungeoneering and am now cutting and burning maples while waiting on plates to buy in the Grand Exchange. Happy holidays to all my friends on TIF!
  6. The best way I know is to go in and fight leader until there are many spawns and then gatestone out to let them dissapear. Reapeat until complete. It's not fast by any means but you don't die.
  7. I might possibly qualify for the list again.
  8. I have been playing every day since the beta was released. I love this game!
  9. In addition they are crafted, not smithed.
  10. No adventure log for me... I am curious myself.
  11. Huh, my name is on there twice as well. I am skeptical, we shall see.
  12. I believe that contrary to what you have stated, MANY members use these skills. In addition, I would be willing to guarantee 100% that many members would indeed complain were f2p to gain access to these skills (or any members skill for that matter). The most prominent argument being that f2p do not pay for content. That being said, the upcoming skill that is going to be released will be a f2p skill, I think this is more than enough.
  13. Been awhile since my last level, today I just got 93 magic. One step closer.
  14. Gathering your own bones via giants/moss giants makes prayer free. There are also much cheaper methods to train smithing such as smelting. In fact one can profit doing this.
  15. MMG did say 2009 was the year of F2P updates right :?: He still has 14 days left in the year to make good on his word  If the new skill were released within those next 14 days, that would make good on his word.

Good point meili. I totally agree, I have been playing for at least 4-5 years, 130m+ total exp. without a black mark and still am not trusted with the ability to trade freely?
  17. Melee isn't even the best way to make money in F2P... In fact I would have to say resource gathering skills are far better than melee in regards to making gp.

I am ranting because I am unable to sell my rares for prices people are willing to buy them at.

Neither are going to happen. Jagex has said that they're not going to interfere in the junk trading, and free trade will never happen. And as already said, f2p has junk. Allow me to briefly explain the flaw with 0barbarica0's definition of junk. If one were to buy an item, lets call it "junk X" for 100 gp off of the GE then it's market value would be 100 gp. Using junk X in a trade would yield no profit since you would gain the same amount you bought it for, rendering the whole process useless. As for the idea of gathering raw resources and calling them junk, this is not an accurate use of the word 'junk' in the context of this topic. In addition I am aware that free trade will not come back. Can't hurt to wish though, right? :^_^: I was not however aware that Jagex has stated that they will not interfere with junk trading.

Not quite Omali. In fact your suggestion for Jagex to insert useless items would only further irritate the problem. They should either eliminate this practice of junk trading or allow free trade. As it currently stands some players are manipulating the system to gain an upper hand over others as detailed in my original post.

Looking through the discontinued items section of the forum one may notice that rare items which have a GE value of a mere 30m are selling for hundreds of millions to those who have 'junk items'. The problem I have with this is not so much the use of junk items, as I believe the market should be free as it once was, but rather the fact that one is unable to sell their items for a price which other are willing to pay without utilizing this 'junk. This seems to be an unnecessary waste of time and money for all involved.
  22. Just a few neat things I have in my possession: -1979 Lord of the Rings calendar. -A collection of various old, and rare coins. -A small collection of beer steins. -Vintage lighters from 1920's+. -A few pipes dating around 1930's/40's. -Sealed vintage tobacco tins. -1966 Chevy van (scooby doo?)
  23. There is no basis for these claims. Nothing in the OP can be determined until the game is released.
  24. That's pretty lame that this was made to be a members only feature. I to want to know how long I've played! :P
  25. An enjoyable event.
