  1. My first level 99 skill was woodcutting, it just sort of happened after cutting logs for awhile. Good times.
  2. I would quit if botting was deemed to be acceptable. Coins, levels, etc. would cease to have any value. I suspect that most of those who claim they would begin to bot certain skills would soon quit as well once there was no longer any human interaction in the game due to all the players being non-human.
  3. That explains something. Most of us does not find griding exciting, thats why we call it "griding" in the first place. People find bugs like the penguin bug or scamming temping, because then they can spend less time on the boring grinding for exp or money and more time for what they like in the game (maybe its pking or other activites for them). Grinding away in silence would no doubt be boring and uninteresting. However you have opportunities to meet people, make friends, things of this nature. That is the key element which people who cheat miss out on.
  4. Never cheated, never would. And although I find cheating wrong, that is not why I personally refrain. The reason I do not cheat is because I would derive zero satisfaction from doing so. Levels gained via cheating? Meaningless. The reward is the journey, not the destination.
  5. I am disappointed that Jagex feels F2P'ers should not be allowed to be recognised as veterans. It is like the skill capes all over again. When those were released it stated in the behind the scenes that "all players having reached level 99 in a skill ... " would be able to acquire these. Just like with skill capes, there was no indication that only all members would be recognised. From behind the scenes: "That winning veteran cape design will soon be available to ALL players who have had a RuneScape account for at least five years." Disappointing to say the least.
  6. I have found the problem. #22 of the Varrock list is locked for me: EDIT: This must be a bug, because although it said that, I was indeed able to complete it.
  7. Attach a rune on an urn, that's a hidden task which a lot of people seem to wonder about. I believe I have done that, are there any other hidden tasks? I had the same problem, until someone told me the task where you have to smith a addy med helm in the varrock task list. Try that one. I've done that also. Thanks for the idea though. Oddly several friends in game told me that they to have only 169 tasks and they believe that to be the maximum. Maybe this will help narrow it down: Varrock: 22/63 Lumbridge/Draynor: 133/133 Falador 14/44

  9. Huh. I have only 169 tasks completed. No idea what I am missing.
  10. @Newb I can completely understand why players prefer to request the aid of a player moderator when it comes to reporting bots en masse. In 2007 the bot problem was significant. At the time I cut yews in Rimmington and the 1 minute wait time between reports proved to be quite frustrating given the sheer number of bots. Now, as a player moderator I remember this and regularly make my way to Draynor and other hotspots to report the bots as it is much more efficient without the wait between reports. No one wants to wait around for an hour to report 60 bots.
  11. I choose to pay nothing. If Runescape stopped being free I would not play.
  12. Thanks to Zammypker43 for recording a video of the event for me. :)
  13. Accessing the GE database has proved very problematic for me over the past few days.
  14. Thanks, I've added you. I appreciate any plates I can get.
  15. Sounds great Aslan! Jeremy, I will probably be on around 4 hours from the time of this post. Can't do any better as I have classes tonight (and had all day).
  16. CLOSED Got all I need, thanks for the help guys!
  17. It's good to hear from you Ammo!
  18. I cut every log I've ever burned, I gathered every bone I've ever buried, I mined a majority of the ores I've smithed as well. I prefer the DIY methods over "buying skills". I get more satisfaction from it.
  19. I don't see it that way at all, however you are entitled to your opinion. Not everything has to be about rewards and acquiring things as far as I am concerned. If it doesn't sound fun to you, or anyone else, those individuals will not attend. For those who think it sounds like a good time, they will go, and likely enjoy themselves. It's win-win really. People who don't want to go don't have to, and can go grind skills or try to accumulate coins during that time. Those who want to go, will go.
  20. I do not understand the negativity towards Jagex organising events like this. They are simply trying to be a presence in the community and bring the Runescape community together. You will find that that is something which will be pursued greatly this year (community involvement). It is a positive thing and I for one commend their efforts.
  21. Medaragon, it mostly depends on how quickly I can acquire items to alchemy.
