Money isn't everything, and obtaining things I want at the expense of other does not seem appetizing to me.

As someone who has never merchanted and sees it in negative light, I can only hope this update eliminates it. :)

Perhaps unranked skills should appear in the highscores as well just noting they are unranked so it could be used to discover peoples stats even in the case of highscores going higher.

After reading the OP the first thing that jumped out at me was that money is not everything and different people get enjoyment from different things. Instead of playing Runescape people could be getting drunk etc.

That would mean fresh rune miners can walk right down in the guild and mine rune with no incentive to ever raise their mining. This would defeat the purpose. As for the 2nd level being 75, that seems reasonable. But 85 for the 3rd level? Naa. 90 is much better.

As of now I have had a change of plan, I am going to get 90 range soon as possible at which point I shall go back to defence until I reach 99 hp as defence is faster than range. I really want to go back to what I enjoy - Woodcut, firemake and at 99 hp that is precisely what I shall do.

Player generally make a skiller after already playing another account yes? Perhaps they grow tired of certain aspects of the game and simply want to do skills on a level 3 while talking to friends etc, it may be refreshing, a new start.
