Range Haters United!
Wonderful. Thanks for the update. Out of curiosity, why are you using a ~50k per hour method to train at a cost? Chinchompas + avansies = 160k XP\hour free, more then 3x the maximum available with melee. Range: +1, Melee: -1.

They aren't preference based. Scimitar beats longsword, period. Non negotiable.

*ahem* Score 1 for deviledegg and -1 for howbad.

Range Haters United!
Nope. Thankfully, as long as you keep your melee stats below 1.5x your range, it won't affect your combat level.

Range Haters United!
Hence the term 'range' combat level. I'm glad you grasp that concept.

D hide top does very little against a maxed mage bonus mage; he doesn't have to worry about dying with a lunar mage to back him up. And precisely what is a forinthry brace going to do? There's no reverants in PVP worlds. EDIT: Actually, the lunar mage can heal the victim while he is under attack by the ancient. Score one for mage, subtract one for melee.

With your current range level, you would be level 66 without defence, level 82 with your defence level.

Not unknown, just common sense. I've run into these before. The lunar mage starts off with spell swap and teleblocks him; 3 seconds later, the mage barrages while smiting until his HP is around 30. The ancient stops for 3 seconds if there is at least 6 seconds left on the freeze, the lunar mage heals, the ancient continues owning. It's very easy to time it so that the ancient is always attacking as the victim is unfrozen, thus keeping him from moving very far, letting the ancient drain his prayer at will until he's out of pots\food etc. and loses everything.

Greasemonkey script
The joys of being a mod  Anyway, I think this is settled - a script is less hassle, less server load, and generally better. Now I get a refresher course in Javascript

Greasemonkey script
Continuation of me and tripsis discussion at http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=782763 Latest post: Fair enough. I had forgotten about the 'evading a ban' rule; it wasn't a good idea to bring that up, even to illustrate a point. As I was saying, I can't get anything done in 50 seconds away from my computer, running back and forth to repost - I find it much simpler to post all at once, and end up deleting my posts otherwise. A script would be something I've wanted to do for a long time - something I would find enjoyable; I was bringing it up to make sure it wasn't violating any rules. As I see no evidence of rules being broken, I will be coding this script unless otherwise informed by pure mage or another admin.

I respect the rules, but I see no such policy under the tip.it forum rules. Nor have I been told it is against them by anyone, period. There's not a whole lot of things I can do in RL or RS for 60 seconds while running back and forth to my laptop, and a script would result in less server load and much less hassle for me - it's unquestionably the most annoying thing about tip.it. I find learning a new scripting language fun; I don't find staring at a refresh screen fun, so I would consider a script much less 'bother'. If it is explicitly against the rules, I may reconsider, but I have seen no evidence of that for the time being.

Figure 15 seconds to type up and respond to a single H&A post. Now, say I type up responses to 8 posts. That's a total of 120 seconds typing, so at the end I will have 3 posts posted, with all of my posting done. Now I get to wait 5 minutes for my other 5 posts to go through. The problem is that every second I have to wait is compounded with each response, so if I end up responding to 15+ posts\PMs (as sometimes happens), even if I take 30 seconds per post, I end up with a 7 minute wait. All Pure mage posted was that there was no need to do it; I disagree, as described in the above posts. Writing a script with a 5+ second delay would be undetectable and result in LESS server load (I end up clicking once every ~2 seconds while waiting). Plus, there's not a whole lot of risk - I get banned, I create a new account and stop using the script. I get an IP ban, I go through the Tor network :? Anyway, it was just an idea I'll have to investigate :P

Slayer Sucks
slayer is bad combat exp...I think everyone gets that now. However alot of people seem to disagree with you that slayer is LESS profit than the zombies. I know i do. This is especially because you only need 1 good drop to make hours and hours of slaying worth it, and even then, you still have normal drops to give even more profit. I thought that was simple. One of the very reasons for training slayer was so you could get worthwhile drops. Just 1 black mask, or 1 g legs, would make up for hours of slaying and many hours of armoured zombies. I wont touch the higher ups since i "havn't been to those levels," but we all know that they're there and the point still stands, whether i mentioned it or not. The point may or may not stand, but that point happens to be wrong - and you have precisely zero evidence. We're talking averages - I don't care about individual drops. Even with the 'normal' drops, you lose a big chunk of money after prayer pots\super sets\armor repair\summons\food\spell\cannon costs, and the slayer darts + 'good' drops barely break even.

Hope that they will nerf magic. I hate getting beat by a mage in full armadyl with ranging gear

The point is, I'm generally not on the forum after a few minutes of posting - I post in a burst for a minute or so so that it doesn't interrupt my playing RS\working outside of the computer, so I have nothing else to do for the next 5 minutes while I wait for the timer to refresh.

Do you know anything about PKing? How about heal other with smite? Do you honestly not know this, or are you just pretending to be dumb?

Pvp drop system.
Dying doesn't do anything to your potential. A percentage of your potential is used to generate a drop every time you kill someone. Read the newspost -.-

Range Haters United!
Thanks, that was precisely my point. Your range level is far below your combat; obviously it will fail on similar combats. Fight a level 70 and watch the d bow work its magic.

Do you even know what those are? He has zero pray after that. Pray tell how he uses protect item without any prayer?

"Bad Signature" reports.
I downloaded the file in question, however, and its size was only 143 kilobytes. I was just attempting to show that in fact it was not as big as he thought. ;) What? I was talking about a long gone signature that was 1.8mb when downloaded. There's no argument about it, the size wouldn't magically change to 143 KB.

Really? You don't use teleports, high alcs, bones to peaches etc.? I'm sorry, your in the minority. Most people I know do, including myself. When I want to PK I go switch to ancients. And a rubber chicken still sucks for melee. Therefore, melee is absurdly underpowered. Rubber chicken = melee = part of the combat triangle, so by your irrefutable logic, a rubber chicken is severely underpowered if you cannot kill a ranger with it. Think before you post.

There's no need to create any form of automated scripts to refresh the page over and over, simply wait a minute or so and then submit your post, or if you get the flood control message, wait a minute and refresh. That's the point. Why should I sit there for 30-40 seconds hitting refresh every time I want to post a simple reply? I've had 6 replys open before at once, in threads like H&A it is very easy to type a helpful but short response in 10 to 15 seconds. I don't see the point in me sitting there hitting 'submit' for 5 minutes when I could just as easily have finished posting and go back to whatever I was doing before.

javelins and spears- useless
So is every melee weapon besides scimitar. You can't have a bunch of weapons that are all the 'best' without totally redoing the combat system.
-
Dragon Claws
We are talking about specials, NOT regular weapons. Whip + defender > AGS or D claws for non spec hits. So it doesn't matter in the slightest how godsword does as a regular weapon. What DOES matter is that d claws beats it in every way for specials. And who cares if people lose money because of a nerf? People lose money every time items drop. I own a pair, and I'm the one advocating a nerf.

Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
You can't bump your posts unless they are on the 2nd page, don't bump them when they are the 5th thread down -.-
