  1. I'm feeling pretty free right now. :P And I have to agree, mostly because Rudy Giuliani will without a doubt win the Republican nomination, and he'll lose. From what I've heard, "his" city improvements were actually other peoples' actions, but he just used his influence to put his name all over what they did. There was some independent infrastructure improvement in New York City somewhere and the slogan on it said "The only thing in the city that Rudy hasn't taken over yet" until Giuliani made them take it off. He just has an aura of deceit about him. Reminds me of Al Capone, in a way. I could see Giuliani carrying around a Thompson sub-machine gun and mowing down his political rivals. :P
  2. Never mind, I made it. OK, we brought up a few points today. We didn't really get into the dragonkin, but we now think that maybe the dragonkin are the same as the elder dragons mentioned in WOM's book. We'll look into this. We got into Armadyl a little. Since Armadyl lost his staff when Zamorak's followers got it, we thought that Armadyl had lost his power. I did some research, and Armadyl was supposed to be as powerful as Zaros, which is really powerful. We thought, possibly that WOM was Armadyl trying to reclaim his power, but we're unsure.
  3. Whoa...bingo. That may have been the final piece of the puzzle. As far as I could tell, when Robert tried to kill the dragonkin, all he wanted was to become immortal. Dragonkin undoubtedly had some mystical property that allowed the mortal that killed one to become immortal. I may be wrong, but I didn't gather by reading the story of Robert that Robert was attempting to achieve godhood, just immortality. OK, then how about this. If WOM becomes immortal but not a god, what could he do? Well, he could still have a massive war against Zamorak, but WOM would not be able to be killed. Remember when we said that WOM's self-confidence would probably get himself killed if he were part of a god war? Well, if he becomes immortal, he wouldn't have to worry! WOM has a leg up on Zamorak here; when Zamorak killed Zaros and took godhood for himself, Zamorak was still a mortal while Zaros was not. This time around, we know of a definite way to defeat Zamorak, and that's the same way that Zamorak defeated Zaros, by stabbing him in the back with the Staff of Armadyl. All WOM has to do is overpower what army Zamorak has, and he can put himself in a face-to-face battle with Zamorak. WOM can actually have the Staff of Armadyl, because its in the hands of allies of Saradomin. Through the Council, WOM can request the use of the staff to kill Zamorak with, and they will gladly give it to him. War ends, WOM kills Zamorak, Saradomin is so elated that he grants WOM godhood. However...what happens when, after Zamorak is gone, all the balance of power shifts toward Saradomin? Guthix, god of balance, intervenes to set things equal. What will he do to rebalance the gods? Will he intervene with WOM's godhood and turn WOM into the new god of evil? Or will Guthix resurrect Zaros to restore balance? Stay tuned... P.S. Nice work everyone! =D> P.P.S. I guess the last few meetings have been world 61, so should we try it again? I'll definitely be there tomorrow, daylight savings time and all.
  4. Hey, if anybody can find out what Elfinlocks says (if anything) or does in the new quest, please post it on here and together we can probably deduce some meaning out of it. I mean, Jagex created some fictional player that WOM robbed. Then they bring her back and make her an NPC in a quest. Definitely suspicious. Even if she doesn't directly mention the bank robbery (which I would have no idea why, it's such a huge event), then she'll probably say something with at least a little bit of meaning. Even in the Cold War quest, WOM was slipped into the storyline in one short sentence, and that gave us a ton of information.
  5. Which could easily be their cranium...
  6. And let's not forget: Of course, with the huge rivalry between the black knights and white knights. That was about the possibility of WOM being related to the King of Varrock and would take the throne if the King were to die. That was when we considered the weirdness of a huge bed and lots of pictures of the King beneath the Wizard's Tower, thinking that the King was a member/leader of Opus Saradomin and WOM was trying to kill him to become the King of Varrock. This was all pre-god theory. I personally don't believe WOM is trying to be the king of Falador. It's very likely he's doing some behind the scenes manipulation to get one of his loyal friends into the throne, though. Since WOM has no known relation to the King of Falador, and the prince of Burthorpe is next in line, WOM probably wants either the leader of the White Knights or the grand master of the Temple Knights to become the king. Both of these are really really far out, though.
  7. ^He may not need money as a god, but to become one he may need some, for bribing his followers/employing workers to arm his army/buy a temple, etc.
  8. I thought he like Zaros...ah well, he's Angel Eyes, he does what he wants. Since we're onto the King of Falador now, he might not exist at all, at least right now. In the really short time that I was a member, I thought that there was some kind of rivalry between Burthorpe and Falador about who was to be the next king of Asgarnia. Burthorpe has a prince, who might be next in the line of succession, but there may be another candidate for King that is being supported by the White Knights, which is why there is so much dispute among them. The king probably died a long time ago and his sucessor still hasn't been decided. Can any member confirm?
  9. We've moved to world 61 recently because of lag issues on world 7. And we're actually in the altar, not outside of it.
  10. I guess no one wants to be Tuco. I've heard some wildly varying theories about the King of Falador. The most popular one at the moment is that the King is really sick and living away from Falador while he heals, and the White Knights are really in control of the city with the king as a figurehead. If that's true, then WOM probably isn't the king. Another one is that there realy isn't a king at all, and the Temple Knights control the city's functions.
  11. Make this your avatar: And the trio shall be complete. *whistles Ennio Morricone music* As far as WOM robbing the bank (I need to make this post relevant in some other way than to glorify the best movie ever), my thoughts were that he robbed the bank partly to decorate his house but mostly to fund his army. He robbed a bank; my estimate is that there were upwards of several hundred million GPs in the bank before he robbed it. All he did with his decorations was to just gild a few items. Since gold bars only cost about 650-700 GPs each, that would only be a fraction of what he probably robbed. What did he do with the rest? Since we're pretty confident that he's going trigger another God War and use summoning to create a massive army that he will use to win the war for Saradomin, thus making Saradomin favor him enough to appoint WOM a god, he will have to arm his army somehow. If we look back at the letters he sent to the various NPCs, he wanted to learn more about a "revolutionary new smithing technique" (AKA blast furnace, we believe) from Reldo, and he wanted information on how Thurgo's ancestors created the Shield of Arrav. If he were to employ Thurgo and many other dwarven smiths in the blast furnace, he could churn out enough weapons and armor to arm...well, an army. And since he'll need resources to make the weapons out of, he'll probably go about hiring more dwarves to mine material and more dwarves to smith the material. Then he simply summons up his army, gives them the weapons, and wins the God War. If you remember how many of the letters he sent were to or mentioned people who were very close to the Black Knights' positions: the Oracle overlooks the Black Knight fortress, Father Lawrence is really close to that one Black Knight north of Varrock (plus his church has a huge tower that can easily be used to spy from), and Father Uhrney is close to that other lone Black Knight south of Draynor (who is in a perfect position to be blamed for the destruction of the Wizard's Tower and thus trigger the war, I might add). I think, among all of our fun little rumors about WOM eventually taking over Runescape/destroying Runescape, we've really overlooked the fact that if WOM DOES get involved in a God War, he will ultimately be destroyed. Zamorak can simply summon as many soldiers as WOM could, but because Zamorak is immortal, and WOM is not (yet), WOM would just get killed in the course of the war. It's bound to happen, I think. Although Jagex doesn't have the time nor the effort to make something like that happen, we'll settle for a quest series that can stop WOM before he does anything stupid.
  12. I was travelling this weekend so I coudn't make it. I just got home not too long ago. I wooudn't have had much to talk about, anyway. :P It's been a slow couple of weeks. Jagex must really be testing this thread's endurance. I will not let it die. I'm all for making Alebcay change his avatar to Eli Wallach. He IS ugly, after all.
  13. Argh. No letters. Curse you, Pete. :wall: I'm going to re-send mine. The FBI doesn't have a listening post in Siberia, as far as I know. If you look closely it says FSB, not FBI.
  14. Heh...well, I guess it can be humorous souveneir. @Meme: Just wait until pages 18 on. They get interesting.
  15. I looked Homunculus up...apparently the Homunculus of legend was incredibly small and created by an alchemist.
  16. I just have to post this one (Varrock bank, me trying to buy a weapon): Me: Buying rune dagger Her: Hi! Me: Hi Me: Buying rune dager Her: Byebye bf Me: I am not your boyfriend Her: Thats not what u said last night! Me: You must be a model, right? Her: Yeah Me: I thought so - you're a bit dense Her: Um...ty? Her: Bye bf *logs* Fans of "Goodness Gracious Me" should appreciate this.
  17. Adverts are out of my control. As for credits, some of the theories in the first thread have the names of contributors by them, but I'm way too lazy to read through this entire thread and find every piece of information ever contributed.
  18. Yes we will. I remember hearing about life runes from RSC, but I've forgotten about them. Anyway, I'm here to share two inspirational sites with the group: WOM will be defeated WOMDA is mighty! *crosses fingers for postbag*
  19. I guess we didn't find out much in this meeting, other than that the "death" symbol might be somewhere in the new Dorgeshuun area. Maybe the new quest in Varrock coming out this month will shed some more light on WOM, as well as the postbag coming out soon.
  20. I was late to the last meeting and it still lagged a lot. I'm thinking World 7 isn't such a good world to go to, or any of the other low numbered worlds. I'm looking at the world list now and World 106 looks very empty. It's pretty much lag free right now, I think we should try it just for this week. Is that OK with everyone?
  21. Oh man...you really had me excited...I literally jumped out of my chair. =D> That was hilarious! And yes, I CAN make it tomorrow. Next week, though, I will be gone. :x
  22. 1alebcay made a post with all three different signatures. Here are the first two: And the animated one: There they are.
  23. Hmm..."Dark History of Varrock"? WOM came from Varrock, he was quite active while he was there. "Foul plots afoot"? Our theory is about as foul a plot there is..."the conspiracies and plans of wicked men are rarely transparent"... Wow, it's like they're talking directly to us.
  24. We're thinking that the quest is going to be something along the lines of "foil WOM before he destroys things," which really won't necessitate any major changes to F2P areas. Players will probably get to stop him before he destroys the tower. It was my guess that WOM would flee after his plot gets foiled, because I assumed he would runn off to a members area (possibly a new one - might seek refuge in the Elven lands or the remotest parts of Morytania) so the quest could continue for members outside of the F2P areas. Plus, Jagex often puts NPCs in two areas at once, like when WOM was in the lumberyard a few weeks ago. I can remember a few other quests where one NPC was in 2 places at once, and the explanation for the event was something obviously ludicrous but put there because Jagex likes being funny. :D So whenever we talk about defending the tower with a mini army, or trying to survive a post-apocalyptic Runescape, or turning WOM into a kite and using him to fly to members' lands and get free membership is just playful banter. :P (and I just made up that last option  ) EDIT: DISCLAIMER: I'm pretty sure at the moment that we're NOT going to become a fighting force that will stand up to WOM's army to save the world. But if you want to keep talking about it in a humorous context then I'm fine with it.
  25. He's on the move! @ Dark and alebcay who are guarding the Wizard's Tower - I hope you don't mind martyrdom, because WOM IS going to attack you guys... I promise to make some kind of shrine out of whatever is left of you both. Back to the current theory (which I am surprised at how many others believe it...I believe it, but I didn't expect anyone else to). I don't expect Jagex to make an all-encompassing, do or die, hardest-quest-that-they-will-ever-create, quest. Those jokers seem to be fond of series quests, and we've already got part one: Swan's Song. That gave us the background on WOM and what he's like. Part two...well, we'll probably have to go on some kind of fact-finding mission for one of the wizards, and once the wizard has all the info he can conclude that WOM's intentions are what we think - meaning we're already one step ahead of the game. Part three...possibly helping the wizards evacuate and setting up a trap. Part four...WOM probably will escape the trap but will become a fugitive, and it's our job to track him down. Eh, that's what I think, at least. Maybe it will end, maybe it won't...
