Apparently rune is as well as some. This is hilarious. However, I think it is making us dumber.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I don't have a doubt that there's going to be a quest about WOM. I personally think that we're really close with our godhood conspiracy idea, because nothing else we've thought of so far has tied every piece of evidence together as well as this theory. We had thought that those symbols near witches had something to do with summoning, which is what WOM seems to be interested in. But we may be off, who knows. And I'm trying really hard to avoid using words that can be l33t-ified courtesy of the Tip.It goons. It's really hard, trust me. :P

Wha....?
Out of curiosity, has anyone else seen a weird advertisement on the forums with some old Asian man at the bottom of your screen? I looked away from my screen for a moment, looked back and saw an old Asian man making weird facial expressions. I nearly fell off my chair. What's the deal? :-s

Really frightened
Why am I reminded of the Monty Python police using a ouiji board: "U. P. Y. O. U. R. S...Up Yours?!" My guess is that it's the house. You said it's 60 years old and you live in the upstairs portion with a family below you, right? Check and see what they're doing down there. Or see if it happens at the same time each night.

Who is Jesus?
Kostya, age 20 I think Jesus was God manifested in physical, human form, and erased humanity's sins by sacrificing himself. =D> @ Korskin. Interestingly put.

Very Sad News...
BOSTON has always been one of my favorite bands. Walk On, Brad.
-
The best and worst band names ever
Some good ones: The Ozark Mountain Daredevils - What mental image do you get? Hilarious. Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin - Long, but amusing if you know who Boris Yeltsin is and why everyone hates him. Kind of a Russian inside joke, anyway. Metacalypse - OK, not really a band, but it's still sweet. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Awesome name, fitting for an awesome band. Dark Horse - Maybe just because of George Harrison, but it's fitting for him. Agent Orange - Never heard a song by them before, but they sound neat. Bad ones: Barenaked Ladies - Why would you name a band of men this? They Might Be Giants Def Leppard - I hate bands that do the "Ooh, let's take normal words and spell them completely wrong! We'll be cool then!" That's an automatic indicator that the band is going to suck. I have fun with this sometimes: http://www.bandnamemaker.com/

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I feel sorry for you KC. :P EDIT: Actually, that's scary. Guy Callaway was shot by Mortimer in For a Few Dollars More, but the person who acted Guy appeared in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Guess what? He was hanged! I'm not sure what for, so I'm going to listen carefully at that particular scene. You have to be kidding...I had no idea that was the same actor! This is just too weird. I think his name was "Shorty" Larson, right? I can't remember what the charges were. Hold on, I'll look it up... Okay, here it is "...Thomas Larson, alias Shorty Larson, guilty of the following crimes: Horse theft, theft of supplies belonging to the Union army, theft of supplies belonging to the Confederate army, (something I can't understand), assault and battery on one (someone's name, I can't understand), perjury, blackmail, robbery, escaping from a state prison, disturbing the peace, slandering, highway robbery, forgery and murder." Then he gets hanged. You're right, Wenlok! The same actor, Jose Terron, played Larson and Calloway! Guy's actor lied and swung from the gallows high. Curse you, Jagex! Always toying with me! :x So I think we can establish that the swirl symbol, coupled with the symbol that looks like a Soul Rune, signifies witches in some way.

Finland and Russia should not be used in the same sentence. Oops, I just did didn't I? Lol, this is an exception. Don't be a hater. We have n00kz.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
No. It seems huge now. Anyway, I think our postbag letters might be answered later, since there's a letter to Shanty Claws in there now, and the Christmas event was 3 months ago. Maybe they'll get around to them eventually. And if it's all right with everyone, I think we should hold back on the WOMDA meetings until something actually happens that we can talk about. Recently there hasn't been much activity at all, and we don't get much done at the meetings when there's nothing to talk about. :P

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Dark Lord is an odd name for Zamorak. Zaros was often referred to as the Empty Lord, but I've never heard any other phrases for Zamorak before. Is the Plague City series 'finished' with ME pt2, because it seems like there's going to be more.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Is there anything about the Mourners trying to summon Zamorak or anything like that?

When did we find this out? Some book about his life that's only available to members.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I don't know what half it is. It appears to be the left half, but Wenlok found another half and tried to put them together, but it didn't work. Maybe he got the same half? I don't know. I had forgotten that the halves weren't identical. Yeah, he desecrated the temple in Varrock. Why?

Investigating the Wise Old Man
The Imcando dwarves were the dwarf tribes that Arrav lived with after he left Avarrocka. I think that was also revealed somewhat in that letter to Thurgo, but more so in the story of Arrav. Speaking of Arrav, I found half of his shield in the Draynor bank yesterday. I showed it to WOM and he seemed extremely surprised, and offered me 3 gp for it. I declined. Maybe I can find the other half somewhere...

I don't know what to think of Woms Spy, but it's probably someone's pure account. :P What a jerk, getting our hopes up. But anyway, that thing in Catherby seems peculiar to me. I know next to nothing about members' worlds, but why was there a glitch there? Has that little part of Catherby always been there, or is it a new addition? Weird, it is. Aside from all this, I finished the org chart. It's a pyramid!!!!!111! P.S. I think it's funny that WOM's slightest movements create so much activity here!

Uh...us? Anyway...there was that time that he was in the lumberyard helping people who got stuck...but the not speaking German thing is a little weird. You weren't on a German server, were you?

No, I mean what was WOM doing there?

Investigating the Wise Old Man
OK, we have: WOM at the top High Priest of Entrana Kolodion Abbot Langley Father Uhrney Oracle Father Lawrence Father Aereck Chieftan of Tai Bwo Wannai Arrav Reldo Thurgo Residents of Shilo Village Larry the Zookeeper I don't know what to make of this...but... I talked to the Varrock museum curator today, and he said something...well, that grabbed my attention. Normally when you talk to him and ask him if he has any news, he'll say something like "I'm concerned with the past, no the present" or something. But today when I asked him, he said that the museum was getting a large cash infusion to expand. Doesn't that seem a little bit suspicious? As in, WOM donating money to the museum? He's very rich after the robbery, and the first rule of stealing money is to get rid of it as fast as you can afterwards by buying things with it. He spent a lot on decorating his house, but probably didn't spend all the money, so he donated more of it to the museum. He's obsessed with antiquity, after all. It seems like a very likely thing for him to do. Should we add the Curator to the list? @ Above: What is that a picture of? Certainly, the new quest might have some new information. Hopefully WOM-related. Anyone? I'm going to get to work on making some kind of chart, too.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Not much for Father Lawrence's symbol, I guess. Maybe just a decoration. Well, today I got to watch "All The President's Men" again, one of my favorite movies, and I learned a few very good lessons about investigation from it, and found that this investigation lacks some things. First off, for those who know the movie, Deep Throat often tells Woodward and Bernstein to focus on the "big picture." I think so far we've been doing this well. We've gone off on a few tangents, but we usually bring it back around to the main point of the investigation. Secondly, Deep Throat's advice was to start at the bottom of the pyramid and work your way up. In other words, you have to first begin by exposing the small-time people involved in the plot, and slowly expose people that are more important, influential, and involved in the plot, until you've exposed the motives for the plot. Once you've done that, the ringleader is usually just a few steps away. This is what we've really been missing out on; the WOM hierarchy. I think, in order to get this investigation off the ground, we need to establish some sort of organizational pattern surrounding WOM. We should start with all of his contacts: Thurgo Reldo Father Lawrence Father Aereck Father Uhrney (mentioned in letter) Abbot Langley High Priest of Entrana Oracle Kolodion the Battle Mage (mentioned in letter) Chieftan of Tai Bwo Wannai (mentioned when you talk to him) Residents of Shilo Village (also mentioned when you talk to him) Larry the Zookeeper (WOM helps him in Cold War) Arrav (he talks of "meeting" him some day) These are all of the people/groups that WOM has made contact with recently. We should probably organize them into some form of pyramid based on their powers. This is what I think the hierarchy looks like: WOM at the top (obviously) High Priest of Entrana Kolodion Abbot Langley Father Uhrney Oracle Father Lawrence Father Aereck Chieftan of Tai Bwo Wannai Arrav Reldo Thurgo Residents of Shilo Village Larry the Zookeeper There. We can slowly add contacts as the story develops, but this is all we have now. I just noticed him mentioning the Chieftan of Tai Bwo Wannai and Shilo Village last night, and we haven't been around there at all. WOM mentions zombies attacking Shilo Village, but I don't know what he's talking about. Maybe members do? Anyway, we need to start at the bottom of the pyramid for now. Let's start with Larry and Shilo Village, because I don't think Reldo or Thurgo can give us any information. I'm going to ask around as well, to various NPCs to see if they know anything more.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Hmm...the cave isn't very far away from Draynor's sewers, too. Plus a lot of people were claiming it looked like a 'little Kalphite,' one that could probably get under WOM's bed without being detected (except by its snoring, which is hard to explain, coming from a spider-thing). So there may be an additional route that connects the Draynor sewer to the Lumbridge cave system. @ Xewleer: Did the sick people have markings on their faces? Did you mean that the sick people's markings are red? I think, this is a ploy being used by the mourners, since they are supposedly followers of Zamorak (supposedly, Xewleer/Trobigod/Skeeran will have to get back to us on that). But maybe the mourners are using the traditional Mahjarrat facial markings to identify who has the "plague." What are they up to? Also, did the Ardougne priest have the same symbol on his chest as Father Lawrence did?

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I spent the day scouring around mostly, I did turn up a few things. The symbol on Father Lawrence's chest seems extremely familiar, though I can't put my finger on what it is. And yes, his robes do look similar to Dark Wizard's robes. My problem is with the color of the symbol, kind of a purple color color, right? If I'm not mistaken, Zaros' colors are also purple. But the shape of the symbol makes me think otherwise. Lumbridge has a ton of those carpets with the black symbols of Saradomin, the same as the ones in the temple in the wildy. But Lumbridge's colors are white and blue, and it's on everything. But in the castle and the church, there are a lot of red and black carpets.
