  1. Every 6 months, it seems members get a new skill to have us F2P's drool over. Maybe, just maybe, the nice folks at Jagex would slide this one in. Now i'm not suggesting this will be a F2P skill, but it would make me want to become a P2P. Heraldry. It is the markings and designs that made sure Knights on the battlefield would know who to kill. Not that anyone would regard THAT in the RS wilderness, but to have a player create a desing unique to them would be very entertaining. There could be many ways one has to earn XP. The most basic could be on tutorial island, when you get your slab of wood(shield), you have to choose a colour of paint. As it grew more difficult, there would be designs to choose from, more colours of paint, and better shields. Insignia could have to be smithed from bronze, iron, gold etc. Moulds could be bought for crowns, animals, and other heraldic insignia, which once the metal was hardened in the mould, could be attached to your shield and you could arrange all your items on the shield. Here is an example: This is a basic steel kite shield with (i'm going to get all heraldic on you in a second) quarterly gules and argent and a centered lion rampant.
  2. Correction. There will always be more new players. But I've noticed the popularity of Runescape has dropped severely. It used to be on every server, 1/3rd of the players would be scurrying around in lumbridge showing off their bronze chainmail. Nowadays it takes some searching to find anyone under level 6. And "The desire to obtain stuff?". Thats like saying there will always be the need for food (in the real world). The desire to obtain things is changing. When Runescape 2 was in its early stages, Adamant was 'the thing to have'. Then came Dragonhide, Rune, and other items. It's not simple. But that's what makes Runescape a fun game to play.
  3. Count me in! This will turn what was once an annoyingly hard to use item dump into a popular user-friendly interface. The images show it's got lots of support, and Jagex will probably at least consider! WOOHOO! \
  4. I love Pirates!! 9.5/10
  5. working on that... hope to put it up soon!
  6. :shame: One word, GRAMMAR! This is a story section. It's important we are able to read your story. Treat this as a school assignment. We aren't asking for a [bleep]en's novel, but it should be well put together.
  7. This is sort of a minstrel-song, not a story. Please enjoy! Chorus: Hey, Hey!(2x) He was too young! The poor old newbie was surely done! There once was a young man, A newbie if you wish, He killed many Lumbrians*, Until he was level six. Then he ventured northward Up to the solid rock, Of the riches he had heard That lie in Varrock Chorus He killed, pillaged, and traded With other newbie friends, They lived a good life, shaded From fears at the map's end One day this poor soul, dread, He met a beautiful members girl "be my gf" He said But she started to hurl, Chorus He was so disraught, he wanderd Passed things he'd never seen. Northward a crowd gathered Their swords were unclean He bore his iron chainmail, Bronze longsword and shield And marched over, very frail, To the man with yew to weild Chorus "hey u, why dont we fight, im the best" Said our poor friend the newbie They moved to deeper wilderness Where blood shone like a ruby Seizing his chance, our friend hit the stranger Damaging one hit point. Oh My! The other thwanged his bow like a ranger, And the newbie sadly did die... Chorus (2x) *People of Lumbridge, it just rhymes, ok?
  8. If you read my signature, I have had a persona of sorts in runescape for a couple months now. It really makes the game more interesting. Another thing is, merchanting is cool, darnit! what's so harmfull for buying and selling stuff at prices most people OFFER before the purchase. All in all, i think this is a great article. =D>
